The straps really can't be trimmed much(you would be trimming the "sticky" part). An 11" strap should work for all but the beefiest packs(someone wishing for longer straps can request them, as we have 8", 10", 11", 12" and 16" straps available). We also sell the straps in pairs for those using their own solution but needing straps, or those unsure of what size they need. :)

The trays mounted not the straps... |
I figured that out tonight. I ended up making some extensions using some double side velcro. Kind of pain to deal with, but it will get me by until I can get it all straightened out. BTW, solved the battery tray width issue by cutting one side of it off.

Yikes. Cutting one side off the battery tray will weaken the front of the tray considerably(make it prone to breaking during a nose-plant for instance). You may consider velcro or foam on the bottom to help prevent the pack from sliding forward in such an instance.
Also, in n answer to your other question(which I missed the first time), I use .5" step to clear the mud guards on my battery trays. This clears most any mud guard, but may require trimming of the screw bosses on some mud guards(compromise to allow lowest possible battery position). :) |
Zippy, theres some photos of one in a truggy on the first page of this. I'll post some of mine in my buggy once I get it back, my friend has it to complete the soldering for me. It may be a little bit though, he's kind of slow with that stuff.

May i ask you, brushlessboy, if the lipo tray in the photo is for a losi 8ight 2 buggy? When you ordered it on the store, did you select 8ight buggy/truggy or custom design?
|
I can tell you that the trays are for the 8ight series in general. My tray is nestled in a 2.0 buggy.
