Esc data.

Do you have a link showing the ESC data? What brand is it, and where can one get their hands on one? Just curious about this 14S ESC. Nice looking build.

I don't know Swedish so I couldn't read anything, but I went through your build thread on the Swedish forum you linked and looked through all of the pictures, and this is probably the coolest Savage I have ever seen. Awesome build man! :great:

All you have to do when you enter European sites is look for the flags which indicate a certain language. usually there is either a USA flag or a UK flag which will both open the site into the English language.

Cool, I didn't know about that, thanks!

I designed and made drawings for a Center diff housing, but the workshop took too long time, and patience is not my strongest side.

I started thinking of a design that I could do by my self, and my friend "carbon fiber" helped me out: 2 pieces of 8mm thick home made carbon fiber was cut, drilled and grinded into something that could possibly work

mckrill 05.06.2010 07:09 AM

Pretty neat..

mckrill 05.06.2010 07:11 AM

The basic idea:

mckrill 05.06.2010 07:13 AM

The complete diff assembly, the diff housing will be changed at a later stage in the project.

and assembled

mckrill 05.06.2010 07:15 AM

Here is a overview image of the assembly in the chassis will be done

nuz69 05.06.2010 07:17 AM

This Kyosho mp 7.5 center diff is very nice ;) ;) ;)

mckrill 05.06.2010 07:26 AM

Well, the only part that is Kyosho in that diff is the plastic housing and the screws... (and those have been replaced as well since the image was shot)

In the finished truck all old parts has been replaced or upgraded, except for the servo saver.

Putting a center diff in the Savage makes the rest of the drive train hold up pretty well, I had to do this modification already with 6s and the Lehner 2230 - the 2 and 3 speed gear boxes never lasted a full run.

nuz69 05.06.2010 07:32 AM

But the Kyosho diff is very strong too, ;) I have one in my Mamba Monstered Inferno VE and hold very well the amount of torque ;):yipi:

mckrill 05.06.2010 12:42 PM

Here's images of the motor mounts

And how it should fit into the shassies

mckrill 05.06.2010 12:43 PM

Quick check-up of how it would fit with the Lipo trays

mckrill 05.06.2010 12:48 PM

New parts - again... Starts to get expensive
Every single piece seem to come with a bill attached to it?

Bondonutz 05.06.2010 12:49 PM

VERY Impressive, Your craftsmanship is impecable. All parts are well thought out and BEEFY.

You are the envy of the entire forum and everyone is watching anxiously to see more.

mckrill 05.06.2010 12:52 PM

Started to fit the pieces together and cut of excess material

Thanks Bondonutz!

nitrostarter 05.06.2010 12:58 PM

Question, are you dead set on that gear ratio? Or how will you adjust gearing if you have to change pinion?

mckrill 05.06.2010 01:04 PM

Shims - very simple and dead stable.

mckrill 05.06.2010 01:09 PM

Here I started to drill holes for the assembly of the machine. I was considering to laminate the trays permanently to the sides, but the assembly/dis-assembly would be difficult, an I stall have not decided on the position..

Thats what I had in mind as well. Just seems to be time consuming...

mckrill 05.06.2010 02:16 PM

Some more images with test assembly

(The gray dust in the corners of the trays are carbon fiber dust)

nuz69 05.06.2010 02:19 PM

AWESOME build :D
Cant wait to see "THE flight of the tuned savage" :D :D :D:yipi:
Don't break it at the first bash !
Your "JUMP" will be recorded on several cameras under different directions ?

mckrill 05.06.2010 03:13 PM

It will break so I hope to catch the jump on video at the first shot...

Some more parts (and $)

The assembled Shocks compared to the old 1/5 shocks i used before
(and yes, they are ugly, but gold was so cheap @ amain)

mckrill 05.06.2010 03:26 PM

I deemed the likelihood of having the bolts for the shocks lasting a full race to be 0% - I just had to make a reinforcement
