I for one hope you did not get screwed...i am just saying that he used my pic trust me i know a few things about UE parts i have a few..as for the last set of vbs i bought those from robin he ended up selling them on ebay and i was the winning bidder and recieved them and they were new indeed...My gut says he will still send you a lightning as for if he does not i have his contact info from when i sold him the hcr truck with vbs and so on so if you end up needing it LMk

Thanks, I appreciate it...and I hate it that he stole and used your pics, that's just wrong. I have messaged him requesting new pics of the actual chassis, with proof that he actually has one, if he really has one...maybe he will respond. Just the fact that he stole your pics and used them to show the item he was selling, even if he has a Lightning for real, make me not want anything from him at all. If he really does have a Lightning, and it is in great condition, he would have taken pics of it...not stole pics of a different chassis. Anyway, I guess time will tell, but I will keep you guys updated on what he says and what happens.

well i know he did have a lightnig a few months ago because when i sold the hrc truck to him he asked if i had a set of tranny mounts for a lightning he picked up, i never saw a pic of his chassis but he was trying hard to get my extra set of tranny mounts because he said ppl did not want to buy the chassis without the mounts..i personally think the rcm cd mount looks awsome on the lightning and if i bought a lightning without the mount i would be fine with that so if you do get his chassis without mount just look at the bright side and go rcm cd mount :party:

Well, if I do get the chassis, it better be in as good of condition as the picture of yours that he used...heh! He also said that he had the transmission mounts and they were included with the chassis, so we'll see I guess...I am not holding my breath on even getting the chassis, much less the chassis and the mounts. I mean, IF he is not scamming me, why on earth would he not take a picture of the actual item he is selling?

Anyway, we'll just have to see how this turns out.

If it were me I would just file a claim on this one and go from there. The fact that he is not answering your emails is suspicious to me. If the chassis shows up you can always make good on the payment, but if it does not and you wait too long you will surely get screwed. Too may unprofessional mistakes in this sale have shown up already for my taste. Everyone who has dealt with this guy has gotten burned, and his details don't add up.

I'd also check through all the paypal and ebay info you have from the sale. Sometimes you get lucky and the person put their phone number in with their paypal or ebay account. Being able to speak with someone is alot better way to get a feel for the situation. Its also a more effective way of hounding someone into getting something done than a easily deleted email.

That is really good advice. Either find his phone number or get it from that post earlier who said he has the contact info, and call this guy up. If he gives you a bad feeling after talking to him or he just does not answer your calls, then cancel the deal and get your cash back. That way he has to fight with Ebay or PayPal to find a resolution. If you get the chassis and are satisfied with the item, then make good on your end.

It is a shame to have to do business that way, but some of these "A" holes just force us to move to drastic measures. If you sell something to a buyer then please have the integrity to communicate with them and do the right thing. Otherwise your deal is going to end up just like this one. What a bunch of crap.

Well, he finally responded...he said he was not sportsam, and that he personally took those pictures of the chassis, and that he will be getting the chassis shipped out tomorrow. I told him about the pictures being ones someone else had taken of their personal chassis that they still own, and asked him to take another picture of the actual chassis since he hadn't yet shipped it, this time with a piece of paper with today's date hand-written on it next to the chassis...no reply yet.

I contacted eBay and told them about what is going on, so I will not only get my money back, but this dude will get his account suspended/deleted as well.

I hope he does post the item, but I have a feeling you'll be getting a refund.. in about a month ( good old ebay/ paypal, get there eventually ) :sarcastic:

I know, it sucks. I have started the refund process, though, so I just have to wait for the refund. The best part is, I have also filed a fraud claim, so he will be investigated and will lose his eBay account. I know he will just create another account, but he will at least lose his current account, and will have to go through the trouble of creating a new account and start over with a 0 feedback rating!

i sold sportsam that chassis. for 200 then he scammed me and got the money back, since i didnt sell it with the mounts. so he sold it either straight to you or someone else and then it went to you. i have the original tranny mounts dogbones and drive cups for it. if you are interested in them lmk and give me a decent offer. here are pics

Man, I think we need to have a sticky with a list of known good & bad sellers on ebay, so we know who to avoid whe buying/ selling r/c gear.

Hey emaxxthemonster, can you further explain how you got scammed when you were the one selling the chassis? I am just concerned because I have some auctions on ebay and need to know what to look out for and/or how to protect myself. I assume this has to do with Paypal allowing the buyer to make a false claim or something.

i recommend not dealing with sportsam at even if he had cheap ue parts. he asked me to end auction early. i recommend not doing that but he would not leave me alone. once they leave feedback its done with you cant do anything about that. if he files a claim once he leaves feedback give them a link to it. prove that he left feedback. he said that it was not all there, as i put in the description of the item mounts,dogbones,and drive cups NOT included. i told him to send it back and i will refund him his money. he eventually got a refund and said to me after he got the chassis and money for me to give him more, so he can rip me off again. i said no thats not going to happen. leave me alone i am taking action on this and i am contacting the ic3 i believe. DO NOT LET HIM TELL YOU WHAT TO DO!!!!
IF YOU EVER HAVE A PROBLEM CONTACT THEM AND THEY WILL HELP YOU OUT!!!! although i still have never gotten my money or the chassis back.

anyone interested in mounts and stuff the close up of the mounts are ingraved with f for forward or front. i did not put them there, that is how they come.

i sold the chassis right before december 2 or 3 i think. i will have to get all the paperwork out one of these days.

I wonder if the local law enforcement in his area could help, might be worth contacting them & informing them of the situation ( since you have evidence that he scammed you ).

emaxx: I still don't understand. Your ad said the trans mounts, dogbones, etc. were not included, but he still successfully petitioned Paypal to return his money?

you know ebay, the buyer is allways right!!!! i think it is alittle lopsided. to much power for the buyer.

Hell, i have a like new UE lightning stuffed under a rack somewhere in the shop here. If I could get 8 bills for it, I would sell it in a heartbeat! Same goes for the VBS(without the towers, as i preferred lower profile towers when i raced my truck). :)
