my v3's all are bullets straight to the board? I kno castle has a new run now with different FETs maybe they changed it again?

I have six MMMv3's and all of them have bullets directly to board, you might wanna call castle becuase if you really do have a V1 that's a ticking time bomb waiting for go off!

Fresh lid for the muggy:oh:

So it finally bit me, having done my 8T and LOVING it as brushless then the Muggy has to get changed over to brushless.....quick question, I have a 2200kv Castle to use, will this be ok in the heavy mugger? IF so, what gearing would you recommend to keep things happy, was going to use my 4S packs and perhaps try 11/48 on the gearing?
Would a 1800kv Castle be better/cooler running? |
A longer motor would run always cooler/better/more efficient. ==> I would go for the NEU-CC 1520 1600Kv on 6S, to get maximum efficiency and runtimes ;)
|
Well to avoid blowing budget then I'd like to use my existing Hyperion 4S packs, wil lthey be OK?
|
a 1520 performs really nicely on 5s or 6s... 4s i believe is not enough voltage for desired speeds
|
Even in 4S a 1520 would run cooler and better for the same speed, because the widings are exactly the same, the motor is just longer and then has more torque per amp, o you can gear up to keep the same speed as the 2200Kv, and the motor will consume the same current (same 4S same power), but will run cooler.
|
Hmm...might split the difference and try a Neu-Castle 1518 1Y 1800kv :mdr:
High speed is not my aim for this one as it will be my dirt basher and maybe used for a little MT racing.... On 4S, and preferably keeping my 48T spur gear, any thoughts on a good start for pinion size? |
I use 2200 w/4s geared 15/46.With truggy tires.

I was thinking of 12/48 on the mugger as a start and then go maybe down one from there is too hot? |
Very very crappy video (no cameraman available at the time) of the first run of my E-Muggy. :)

I love the look of the muggy, but the neu-cc 1518 is a 1Y not 1.5Y ;)
|
Who said it was a CC/Neu? It's a smooth can Steve Neu 1518 1.5Y (1250kv)
SIDE NOTE: Looks like I decommissioned the MMM on the Muggy from a bad landing at the track :whip: |
Ok sorry. What is your punch control setting ?
|
I don't use punch control, why do you ask?
|
Because the wheelies are pretty easy ^^ Ok so the acceleration is not limitated.
|
I run 15/46 on my SC8e and 15/50 on my RC8Te Both run 2200kv MMM systems and never even get warm also running 35c 5000mAh 4s
|
hello.. i really dig the muggy man... i need some help i got the mamba 2200kv and i am looking to buy the HYPERION G3 VX 6500 MAH 5S 18.5V 35C/65C LIPOLY PACK.. would u beable to help me with a run time? i am worried i am going to get it and it wont last on a 10-15 min race.. thanks
