my experience with my Leopard:
so my mr3680 died, and I got the 4074-2000. the rotor has kind of an plastik coating, or glue, supposed to protect the kevlar/carbon-fibre http://i53.tinypic.com/14ltrbr.jpg Measurements of the rotor is 49mm, the magnets about 41mm, and has little axial clearance, don't know if I keep it like that or not. on the back, there's a little space, but I think that's ok: http://i56.tinypic.com/6pq44p.jpg overall quality looks good so far. didn't get hot on 5s, great. good power, but different to the losi xcelorin 1700kv and the mr 3680-1600. Those have more torque at low revs. good buy so far! |
I'm afraid to try a leopard because it may not play well with my Rhino and Buffalo.
why?? these motors aren't bad at all, and for sure have less amp draw then kd's and other turning toasters of death. the efficiency seems good.
sorry, a lame attempt at a joke about all the wild animal names we have for batteries and products.
excellent... not lame at all, just me too stupid... |
Anyone has feed back on these yet. I stopped in at my LHS and as soon as they found out I was BL out came the Leopard. Looking for a motor for my Revo.
I am running the 4074 with 2000kv on 5s in my truggy for some months now. Very good motor, never gets too hot. I have mounted a fan on the motor to be on the safe side, but it's not really necessary.
Compared to the previous motors (losi xcelorin 1700kv, MR 3680 1600), the performance is a bit different, less torque at lover rpm, which I had to get used to (which is normal due to the 2000kv). Never owned a motor with such high kv rating, but I have to say it's a perfect match for the truggy, I was quite surprised. There is plenty of power, but it's not insanely overpowered. |
I have been running a 4074 2000kv in my Sc8E on 5s.And it has plenty of power to burn.
Soon I will have a 4065 2700 kv and a 3674 3300 kv and these I will run in my 4x4 Slash with a MMP from 2s to 4s. |
seems to me their prices are slowly creeping up. i've been watching them and the good deals just seem to be getting harder to find for me.
They have smaller bearings than the Castle motors but the design seems quite similar. The good thing is that there is a lot of Kv available.
I put the 3674 3300 KV LBP motor in my XT8 on 3s 5000 40c and bashed a bit and snapped my front 10t bevel drive gear.Holly crap I was running a CC 1518 on 6s and have hammered on it and have never damaged it.
picked one of these up about a month ago but forgot about this thread. have it in my e maxx i think with a 19t pinion but it might be 17. all i have to say is wow! im running it with a mamba max pro on 4s not a mmm a mmp and neither of them get hot the motor just warm and the esc fan hardly ever comes on. with the MMP! i have stand still backflips an wheelies whenever i want. (idk what that other guy was talking about saying it didnt have much torque) but anyways that me 0.2¢

¿someone use the 5692 in a car? .......
I've been wanting to try one of these motors out as well, but they advertise up to 85% efficiency.. But for the low cost, it's so tempting.

I got a 5682 from rcfans88. 1 week to Australia.:yipi:
I made an account at the rc-fans.com website and they replied with an email saying it was only a wholesale shop for people with LHS, Ebay shops, online shops, etc. and not individuals buying for personal use.
