Rene or Agarabaghi check out these rollers, they are pretty bad ass. I have riden on rollers in the past, but not rollers like this. You can stand & sprint on these, were as you could'nt on the older rollers. I was thinking about maybe getting some, to use instead of my boring Trainer.

I ride outdoors , but sometimes the weather is crappy outside & i would still like to ride. As for the Zips, im comteplating these Reyolds Asssult rims, i can get them for $1200. Also i just made a Fork mount rack for the inside of my Van. so i dont have to lay my bike on it's side anymore.

I acctually found them for $1130 on a ebay store. But my LBS said they could sell me a set for $1200. The advantage of buying from my LBS is support if there is a problem, versus getting them from a ebay store.

That looks great. But you should NEVER clamp your Carbon fiber Frame by the Frame. You should always clamp it by the Seatpost. I rode 25 miles on Sunday, Monday & Tuesday for a Total of 75 miles, plus i rode 10 miles tonight on my Rollers.

agarabaghi 09.22.2010 08:00 PM

oh come on... u know me better than that.

Its not clamped... just sitting on it.

agarabaghi 09.22.2010 08:13 PM

agarabaghi 09.23.2010 04:23 PM

30 miles each way. But the crt.5 was awesome with the new big bore converstion... went through 2 whole battery packs 35 - 40mins each and didnt break anything.

rchippie 09.26.2010 06:26 PM

Im thinking about getting this new stem.

pinkpanda3310 09.26.2010 10:05 PM

I went for a ride with my dad and brother yesterday. We did 40km (25mile). It felt great. I was surprised I faired better than my brother. He owns a bike so has been riding more than me lately. I've been once in the past year. Dad on the other hand, I think he was getting sick of waiting for us

agarabaghi 09.26.2010 11:18 PM

nice stem.

Im a fan of the thomson line, i just order a thomsons 100mm stem for the roadie...

I'm glad i decided not to get the Lemond bike. I got the deal of a lifetime on this 2009 Trek Madone 6.9 red pro. The bike is brand new. This is also the actual bike that Trek used in the 2009 dealer catalog. The only thing that was changed from the catalog is they replaced the $2000 Carbon fiber wheels, with a high end spoked wheel, with Bladed spokes. It also has the Team ASTANA logo on the bike. For those of you that are into cycling, you know who i'm talking about. It has the Top of the line Sram Red gruppo & a Fizik arione seat with Titanium rails. Ity also has clipless pedals, which are based on Ski bindings With out the bags it weighs 16#'s, with the bags it weighs 17#'s. The Frame, forks seat post are OCLV Carbon fiber, which is Proprietary to Trek. The crank arms are Carbon fiber as well. The color's are pearl white, two different shades of pearl or metallic pink. It looks totally bad ass in the sun.

_paralyzed_ 10.01.2010 12:52 AM

let me get this straight- you're going to stand there all straight faced and tell us you bought a pink bicycle. AND expect us not to riddle you with gay jokes. Is that what is happening here:neutral: You are a brave man hippie, secure in your sexuality:na:

rchippie 10.01.2010 09:13 AM

Yes i am.

agarabaghi 10.01.2010 10:43 AM

Lol minus the pink the bike is awesome. I really need to dump my shaman r510 wheels for something lighter. I looks like if I put zipp303 on it I would loose about 1.2 lbs.... Which puts my bike in around 16.9lbs.... But $1200 is a little steep ha

You really have to see it in person, it looks BAD ASS . As for lighter rims check this out. They only weigh 1525 grams per set. These are cheaper & i believe lighter than the Zipps. I just checked on google. The REYNOLDS ASSAULT CARBON WHEELSET are 100 grams lighter than the Zipp 303 wheel set.

Nice bike Mike. Don't listen to Harold, he is just jealous of all the attention other men will be giving you when you ride.

Yeah, sorry, had to do that to you!!!

I like the bike, you must be pretty serious to have a sweet ride like that. I used to bike about 9 miles a day for exercise, but I used some old piece of crap mountain bike. Did the job, got me hit by a car and it still works fine. Oh well.

I did a 46 mile group ride today, & i finished in the lead group. Our max speed was 27.5 & our average speed over 46 miles was 17 MPH. I have been hit by a car while riding a bike before,it was not fun . How is the wife & the future missing Linc doing ?.

agarabaghi 10.02.2010 11:18 PM

nice...

this is my ride from friday... http://connect.garmin.com/activity/51256351

30 miles @ 17.9mph average - 29.1max

The other day i did the 60mile version of that, and hit 35mph on the way home haha...

I just installed my Thomson Stem and ordered a Thomson seat post... bike can officially be called done, until i figure out wheels...

pinkpanda3310 10.03.2010 02:10 AM

I did another ride today with dad and brother. I know my numbers are ameture compaired to yours but anyway- 28 miles @ an average of 15mph. I got separated from them by traffic and got lost so I did the last 6 mile alone:lol:

I'm not sore enough to consider wearing bike pants yet.

The correct shorts will make a huge difference. Pearl izumi shorts with the 3d chamios are really good. Your average is pretty good. That is what my average usually is when i ride alone on a 25-27 mile ride. Those are nice bikes. I assume that is Carbon ?

agarabaghi 10.03.2010 10:08 AM

spandex on race day only haha

pinkpanda3310 10.03.2010 11:13 AM

Yes it's carbon frame. I don't know anything about the running gear other than Dad has told me it's mostly low end gear. Apparently he has tried a number of bikes and didn't notice any benefits from the expensive gear.

I'll try and remember your recomendation if I ever get some pants, thanks.

I Definitely noticed a difference when i switched from my last bike, which had Shimano 105. To my new bike which has Sram Red. The 105 is 3rd from the top of shimano's line, were as the Red is Sram's top of the line. The 105 was very good, but i think the Red gruppo is smoother, faster & lighter.

Does that mean you shave your legs and arms?

You are probably right. I think handlebars and seat are more important (comfort). Gears are really there for hills and I like to gestimate and select a gear at the foot of a hill. That way I'm not loading and changing gears.

A good pair of cycling shorts are just as important.

agarabaghi 10.04.2010 09:23 AM

I don't shave my legs that's for sure.

here is a pic of the new bike with the new stem...

Looks good. It looks like there is a blue swirl over the carbon.
