so here's my new turnbuckles...... REAR...

i thought they would be too short 71mm as compared to the Lundsford 83mm, but with the RPM Long ends, they are perfect length to cover all threads.... on the front caster and steering im actually going to have to cut the rod ends a tad shorter to make them fit.......

as you can see, still no front arms...... thats all i need to get this truck going, at least with the stock Traxxas motor and electronics, (until i can afford a brushless system)

The prices arent the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. Nice stampede, great it worked out for you.

boss 302 04.24.2006 09:32 PM

i would get the hb diffs for the hybrids they are cheaper

Three posts right behind each other, i thought you didn't knew about the existence of the edit option...

HINT, it looks a lot like this;

How is leroy the great one? Nothing against him, youve been a mod longer than him, TEACH ME! :027:

Serum 04.25.2006 12:46 PM

It's about dimension..

furryninjas 04.25.2006 03:22 PM

wow, i didn't know this was an underground 'battle-A-thon'... :005:

you two cats got issues :031:

LOL

SO, (Stalone and Potion) sylvester and serum, may i ask another questions about my Pede ??? :032: :018:

this ebay seller i bought the arms and knuckles from, who said the fronts are on back order, sent ebay a notice of backing out of obligation (i sent ebay a nasty gram about said seller)......... SO, when i get around to ordering the matching FLM arms, will my CVD's fit the EXT arms, or do i have to buy EXT CVD's now too.....?, or just stick with the stock length arms?

and has anyone ever ran offset rims in rear to make it wider? would this make it handle better or just run the standard offset on front, and inset on rear to make it even?

oh yeah, im going home in JUNE so i will get to stop by FLM personally (maybe he will give me a tour of the business), i grew up in the same town and school as the president of FLM (Jamie McDaniel), maybe ill take my pede to show him and to thank him for his outstanding work... hopefully i can be brushless by that time.....

ooh ooh ooh, i used the EDIT button........ wow, my thread is getting popular, 4 pages and this makes post #60 !!!

coolhandcountry 04.25.2006 03:44 PM

some of the guys run the stock slider on the pedes with good luck. the cvds for the stock arms won't fit the extended ones.

How am I the great one? I am just a man. Maybe a boy. :D

Mike.L 04.25.2006 06:13 PM

they have nice parts there. but to me i think there $expensive$ parts.

coolhandcountry 04.25.2006 07:32 PM

What is a good shock for a ped? I have heard the traxxas big bore shocks. I could use me some for mine. What about spring rate to? I need to hurry up and finish my pede. I am tired of looking at it setting there. It needs to be dirty.

I'm happy with my Duratrax Evader PRO ST shocks. I picked them up on eBay back when I was building my FLM Pede. I do suggest jumping up to the heavier green springs for them though.

I run the standard width FLM arms on my Pede, but upgraded the front with nitro pede spindles, carriers and flm caster blocks. I also use maximizer Stampede to Maxx wheel adapters and run RPM Stablemaxx wheels for a wider stance. This pic gives you a good idea of how wide it is with these parts (keep in mind this is the FLM Ext chassis as well):

furryninjas 04.27.2006 07:45 PM

anyone have problems with steering turnbuckles hitting servo or chassis braces and interferring with servo motion or arms up/dn movement? can't seem to get this figured out...... does the 645 hang down too low or something, is there a more compact servo i could use? what is my problem?

coolhandcountry 04.27.2006 08:17 PM

Have a pic of it. the 645 should work great.

furryninjas 04.27.2006 10:49 PM

ok, so i had to mount it through top of chassis instead of bottom to clear the braces, and then i had to turn it around so the wires were coming out the front instead of towards the rear........ but now it turn correctly anyways.... but now, when the shocks compress the wheels toe in real bad, is this normal???

its late so ill try to get picks tomarrow.....

oh shit, little driving in yard, no longer than 5 minutes, no jumps or anything......(stock brushed motor, low battery), the little C-clip popped off the shock shaft above piston, and its too low in shock cylinder that i can't snap it back on..... GPM shocks SUCK!!!! does seem like there's enough space between 2 C-clips for the piston to fit, i think that may be why i came off so easily.... WTF!!!!:mad:1

maybe shocks from another car will fit?

furryninjas 04.27.2006 10:57 PM

never mind, now i gotta turn the servo around again...... "servo reversing on controller", isn't that a nifty thing, LOL..... that should fix the toe in problem too..... the turnbuckles will be straight across then instead of pointing towards rear end....

coolhandcountry 04.28.2006 07:04 AM

You get it. For the little clip. If you take the bottom of the shock of that mounts to the truck. ( the rod end) You can pull the shaft all the way thru and get to it alot easier.

furryninjas 04.29.2006 08:44 AM

couldn't get rod ends off with anything i tried...... but i did eventually get the clips on, with some fightin' and some cussin'.... now i just need a brushless set-up... and ill be all set to go bashin.

furryninjas 04.29.2006 10:15 AM

ok, so here it is so far....... shocks fixed, servo fixed (just need a new servo saver now), i like the low CG of the rusty, but i got the pede chassis cause i THOUGHT i could flip it over and have braces on top for strength, but it didn't work out, oh well, still looks alright i think, just need the front arms still and brushless motor, other than that, she's done, got new rims and tires too just haven't glued 'em yet......

plastic steering knuckle broke already too, damn couch just jumped out of now where, LOL....
