Mine regularly got my Revo up to 75 mph (this was GPS clocked) and my LST2 over 60 mph on 6s with zero issues. This was a V2 model as well. This unit ran great for me for 3 years before I sold it. Always on 6s.
Not to mention the countless people I know running them on 6s. |
Since this thread is kind of a wishlist, I'd say 60v, 100+A, sensored, and multiple input types (PWM, 5k pot, etc). I'd only want datalogging if there was the ability to add a real-time display...

I'd like to see a smaller size of MMM. I know the MM Pro is there, but not as up to the task in a hefty truck as a 1/8 exclusive esc. Saving space is important to me atleast. Especially when most 1/8 manufacturers are opting nowadays for narrower chassis which will make fitting a big esc and brick- like lipo packs a real pain.

Data logging is cool for a while, but once I have things working I stop worrying about it. If said Android app could D/L and display the data, then that would be tremendous. Can't be bothered to plug into my pc to do it. (Honestly rarely ever turn on PC w/ a decent phone anyway.) Don't think I'd want to pay much to do this honestly. Otherwise I'm w/ captain harlock. Smaller form factor. This would be my #1. Can be a bit chunky, and hard to fit at times. Waterproof and even better reliability would also be tops. |
The feature I'd like to see in castle esc's is built in telemetry showing voltage, amp draws, temps, rpm's etc on the display of your transmitter.
Another mfr already has this, so it should be doable. |
Offer \ question
Why not be used in future controllers from Castle BEC, based on Buck-Boost DC / DC Converter something in the nature of this http://cds.linear.com/docs/Datasheet/3789f.pdf Something similar is in the regulators LRP sxx 1 / 10 Moreover, such a change in the line has matured more and more people complaining about the internal BEC. With servo-type savox 1258 are often reluctant to work steadily due to the voltage to 4.5v drawdown I felt the full drawdown on the SCT 3800 when the battery from the irrepressible power of the system at currents up to 100A squander battery 6v I think something this thing would solve some problems http://cds.linear.com/docs/Datasheet/3112f.pdf |
all a new monster needs is solder posts, sensor port, and change the case so the fan is on the outside where its easily removable/replaceable.
|
Why not a "Build to Order" program? Sure it would be a more expensive ESC, but you get what you really want.

I have to purchase one soon for my 8x8 scale project so I am curious to see what if any new changes are coming. I plan on having the MMM pretty self contained so that I can pull it out without disturbing other components. I will use a servo extender to connect to the ESC and such so I just pop a few connections and pull the unit out. |
i hate plugs i direct wire all my motors, the less connections the better off you are.
|
Any updates , just noticed the Monster was selling at a reduced price on Castles website?

Just saw on bigsquid. Hope mamba monster 2 is sensored. I want a castle product on my 1/8 buggy for racing for a long time.

Controllers let out smoke for one reason outside of being defective.......bad current flow. Check your soldering, connector tightness, and mainly, don't use cheap, low c related batteries. Additional caps can help clean up inconsistencies in current flow, but nothing can help a zippy pack trying to push a e-revo to 65.

Whoa there buddy. Dont bring Zippy into this! :whip: |
Was funny is that I use zippy all the time, and I actually typed crappy. The spell check on my phone corrected it to that, and I found it so funny, I just didn't change it.

Any where to look on the MMM to see what version it is? I don't have the original box anymore. My original one had a V3 sticker on the bottom of the packaging, but i forgot to check this black friday one I bought. I'd be super happy if it was a V5, but I won't be depressed if its just a V3, my truggy loves its 1yr old V3 which regularly gets punished on 6S.
