Hey thanks Brian, It's a toss between this and my 6x6 for me ? Work bench; I reorganize and clean between each build, just finished 2 builds this one and a Ridgecrest I went through so it's extra messy this time. Time to tidy and get ready to start building my 1/6 Monster truck, it should have the most potental of pure epicness yet ??

A side note about the fender flares...

After high school Bondo did a brief stint in the local community college. He was expelled for hiding along the walking trails and leering at the freshmen girls.

He is still referred to around his hometown as "bushwhacker".

I was asked how I made the scale whip antenna on RCC so I thought I post that info here as well along with a couple poser shots.

I used some very thin piano wire from the Hobby shop and a old Nitro throttle linkage dohicky, For the end to mimic a tennis ball I utilized a 1/8" plastic bead from my tackle box. I used 60/40 silver solder for the wire install and heated the tip of the wire to melt the bead on.

They are discontinued Proline 30 series premounts I picked up on ebay a year or so ago, they've ben patiently waiting on the shelf for me to build this Jeep.

_paralyzed_ 12.05.2012 08:24 PM

JERRY2KONE 12.06.2012 03:14 PM

Very cool work

There is always something to be said for that feeling of opening a brand new RTR vehicle, but who cares when you can create something like this from scratch. I love all of the homemade custom work you did on this project. You should strip the build and either plate or anodize the entire frame to finish the job. Very nice body and match up to your own 1:1 vehicle. BRASSWIPE. Classy workmanship.

Hey Harold!!! Put the fat chick down. Back away from the fat chick. Wipe that glazed look off your face and get a hold of yourself. Missed you to.

Bondonutz 12.06.2012 03:40 PM

Thank You Jerry, means a lot coming from you sir !

I seriously thought about Powder coat but then no one would really know how much work went into this to build, Seemed a shame to cover it all up ?
In the few times I've run the truck the brass is already starting to get a little tarneshed, hopefully in a few months the brass will have a nice patina.
