hehe, yes, I would build a second truck if I were you. I dont want to run a center diff because I like to do wheelies. The motor plate is not stock. It is a Kershaw Designs motor mount that someone on another site had laying around. The bolt pattern matched the bolt pattern on the 1717 but the holes and slots were too small. I had to use a dremel and a metal cutting bit to enlarge them. I plan on keeping the stock chassis because I want to keep the truck as light as possible. I may even replace the power strokes with four 1/8 buggy shocks.... I am still thinking about it. I definitely do not want the truck to be any longer, I think it handles well the way it is and if it were any longer I dont think it would do wheelies anymore.

You can still do wheelies with a center diff - just use a heavier oil. With proper tuning, you can dial the wheelies in or our completely with the differential in the middle and it will be FAR more efficient than the ultramaxx tranny(lots of drag). That looks like enough parts to justify a 2nd truck, too. :)

+1 on the centerdiff. It makes the truck way more cool to drive. With the 1717 it will still do wheelies on demand even with rather diffoil. But at the same time you will alo have the opportunity of using the frontwheels occasionally ;o)

I wanted to let you guys know that after reversing to the old firmware that the truck is running great again! I dont know how much these diffs can take... we'll find out! I already put a bow in my MIP rear drive shafts

My 3905 maxx build with center diff (no trans) and LST front and rear diffs... and some other goodies...

Did you have the LST-2 spacers machined or does someone sell them?
AHAH, I found the answer I was looking for after reading... Imagine that! Off to bug RedShift! |

The pinion has an 8mm shaft, so you'd have to get 8mm drive cups and upgrade to center cvd's instead of sliders. Or get 2 of these http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...rcmrevocoupler to use sliders, but cvd's would be better. |
Can I use the traxxas CVDs? If not, what can I use?
I forgot to mention, I bent the crap out of my rear MIP CVDs. I think the setback arms may be a contributing factor. Maybe I should go with regular racer x arms and the UE mono block? |

Lot's of people run setbacks with no problems. With those big tires you are running, that is going to happen. That's a ton of mass to rotate. I suggest smaller tires or stocking up on cvd's! |
