I used a very accurate Metler Toledo scale... but it looks like urs may be heavier... this is mine.... well.. I'm still happy with 8.35.. but I would be happier with 7Lbs and under Like Serum...

A CF G2 chassis is lighter by 2 ounces I believe, so that would help. Uh, a single speed tranny would help out a few ounces, as well as losing the bumpers and a few other small things like that...

The rear bumper can go for sure. Would you be able to remove material from that diamondplate chassis?

BrianG 11.11.2006 11:52 PM

Doesn't there come a point where it can get too light? Remove too much weight and traction begins to suffer I would think...

MetalMan 11.12.2006 12:16 AM

But at the same time, there is less mass to move. Of course if you go too light and too fast, the air could get under the chassis and lift the truck off the ground... I've seen vids where this happened with high-speed touring cars that apparently didn't have enough down force.

I'm gonna drill out some holes in that chassis... I guess 8.3Lbs is not so bad... I can live with that...

coolhandcountry 11.12.2006 08:37 AM

I think if you swap the chassis to a gmaxx it would save some weight.
How heavy is your chassis to a stocker?
Gmaxx aluminum is the same. As mentioned a carbon would be lighter.
I am not running cvds in mine. I have ti shafts in the middle.

squeeforever 11.12.2006 10:56 AM

Yea. You might lose some weight by going to a 3.3 slider/knuckle setup.

aqwut 11.12.2006 12:11 PM

the chassis is 220 grams.. the cvds and Integy knuckles not that much heavier than the stock sliders maybe only 70 grams or so.......
