Yeah, I cut the red wire from the ESC to the receiver.

Are you wiring the bec to the esc??? You want to go from the bec to the reciever battery input. You don't have to power the esc, it will power itself without the bec.

I just bought a better UBEC and changed to dean connectors, I think my connectors were coming out of contact and fried the cheap one.
