What do you mean "not working right". BL motors don't have a polarity per se. If it runs backwards, just switch two wires...

ReDrUm_Racer 12.16.2006 03:46 PM

It just isn't turning. do we need to wire the ubec for it to work or can we just use the bec in the mamba maxx til we get the time to wire it? I programmed the esc for him, following the directions, but we do not know which wire on the motor is for which on the connector.

BrianG 12.16.2006 03:52 PM

If you run too many cells on the internal BEC, it will thermal if not burn up. Anything over 10v will get it hot quick, especially when using high power servos on a heavy MT. A receiver pack should be cheap and easy to get until you get a UBEC.

Like I said, the wire order doesn't matter unless it runs backwards. Just hook any wire on the controller to any wire on the motor. It truly doesn't matter.

Does the motor stutter when you give it throttle, or does it not do ANYTHING?

Did the motor make the beeping sounds when you were programming the ESC?

ReDrUm_Racer 12.16.2006 03:52 PM

Alright i just tried the white wire on each of the motor wires and none worked. the white wire is the one that isn't polarity, right?

ReDrUm_Racer 12.16.2006 03:53 PM

nope, it makes no noise, just acts like there's no power. i guess we can just try to hook up the ubec.

BrianG 12.16.2006 03:58 PM

You just tried each of the white wires? I'm not following what this means. Each motor wire hooks to each of the three ESC wires.

If the motor is hooked up correctly, something is wrong then. The motor itself makes beeping noises when you program the ESC. If there aren't any beeping noises, then either the ESC isn't working or the motor is bad.

Did the ESC lights turn on while you were programming. Just trying to see if the BEC fried (the BEC also provided power to the internal ESC low power circuits).

ReDrUm_Racer 12.16.2006 04:02 PM

I plugged in each wire to a wire on the battery and tried it, then I switched the white esc wire with another esc wire and tried it, then tried the white esc wire on the last one, none of which worked.

Let me see if I have this straight; you hooked two motor wires directly to the battery?? I guess it doesn't matter at this point.

Does the ESC or motor get hot when it is hooked right?

When you power up the ESC, the motor should make beep and the ESC LEDs should light up. I know there is no beep, but what about the LEDs?

Sorry, i meant the motor not the battery. We got it working, the connections between the esc and motor were not good. We're going to be solderign them later today.

BrianG 12.16.2006 07:39 PM

LOL, ok. I was kinda wondering what the heck you were doing! :)

Sylvester 12.16.2006 09:09 PM

LOL. I though you were putting 2 motor wires to the negative and positive battery leads - Hehe i used to think that would work a long time ago :p

BrianG 12.16.2006 11:09 PM

lol. oh, it'll work, but it will act like a stepper motor and only move a little and then heat up. :)

canadianrcist 12.17.2006 08:39 PM

yeh, we got it running, man is it fast. redrum has some video footage, idk when he'll put it together. this thing back flips and wheelies like crazy

here is a pic of the ghetto set up we used to run it today. http://img224.imageshack.us/img224/6...d79f2eayy6.jpg

BrianG 12.17.2006 10:48 PM

lol, it was a "prototype" right? I don't see the ESC in the pic, but I do see wires leading to the rear. Does that mean the ESC was mounted on the bumper?!? :dft002: ;)

Now that you have yours running, you're gonna have to help Redrum get his going...

canadianrcist 12.17.2006 11:10 PM

lol yeah, the esc was taped on the shock tower O.o lol. this was our ghetto 1 day rig. i now have a esc mounting plate in the rear. (screws into the exhaust pipe hole). and working to find where to put the reciever.

ill try and help him, he knows more then me. lol.

canadianrcist 01.01.2007 05:52 PM

made some new bumpers today and fitted my new , well not really new, but stickered out t-maxx body on it.

fiero_silva 01.07.2007 11:34 PM

So, is it faster than it originally was as a nitro? ;)

canadianrcist 01.07.2007 11:52 PM

right now its about the same, i just need to get the gearing down and ill say itall be faster.

but for track racing its alot better, you accelerate out of corners way faster then any nitro can.

Sylvester 01.08.2007 04:59 PM

Looks good! LOVE the body ;)

lol, stickers add massive hp boosts. i have about 100 stickers on there, so that adds, 100hp per sticker, so thats 10000hp in my revo.
