Now if you could just get some socks on that bad boy it would be a masterpiece!:D

Back on topic, lol....

I agree the prices of car/plane stuff is out of balance.

I would think part of it is related to R&D costs. This excuse doesn't always fly, but I'm sure it's ture in some cases... more time and effort in designing them. And there must be more costs on the back-end also, in warranty claims etc.

Heck, look at Hacker... they finally just gave up on designing a new car line. They either:
1. couldn't build it good enough
2. didn't think there was a big enough market for it, or
3. they were afraid of having a mess of blown up product like the original hacker car escs.

My primary system is a maxcim N32 airplane controller. I have always used this system in my MT's etc and it works great although I do use a oneway and mechanical breaks so any issues with partial throttle/glitching are absorbed by the oneway.

Perhaps it is the ensurance to pay for a good service on a car ESC.. i think the car escs burn down more than the ones used in planes..

Simply because the ones used in planes are most of the time floating and air is cooling them from everywhere. Not to mention that they are powering a motor which is not working so hard( no high resistence), just the propeller moving the air around.

Just FYI :dft003:
I fly a 66" span hollow molded glider called Flash that draws 80+ amps on the climb with a Hacker B40 8s w/4:4/1 gearbox 11 x 9.5 prop 4400 3s2p lipo pack and that's considered a mild system...Some are pulling 200 amps or better powering 16-18" props :026: Granted a climb is only 5-10 seconds long but even the pylon guys run upwards of 80 - 100 amps for minutes at a time....

hope this helps

Thanks for the welcome...I have an lst converted to brushless via the fine designs kit..... Neo powered TC3.....Novak powered thunder tiger motorcycle....mamba max 7700 powered XXX-T MF2....mamba 8000kx powered rc18t....a cen matrix in the mail to be powered by a feigao 540 8XL

Plus some smelly nitro junk that I don't even play with anymore ...NTC3 and a stock LST. Both currently being eyeballed as either e-conversions...the NTC3 would be fun to convert and maintain the 2 speed just for kicks, or for sale items along with their support equipment..I'm pretty much done with nitro.....

Plus a gaggle of brushless powered airplanes....

I like brushless :018:

Hey pinolelst
Is the FD LST the LST2 or the original?
How do you like it?

I am using the FD motor mounts for my 8ight as they allow me to use the nitro flywheel and clutch. My only gripe with them is they use standard screws instead of metric. I fixed that pretty quick though :005:

It's on one of my LST1's that I tricked out a little with CF and hard nodized chassis plates and aluminum diffs .I have the LST2 conversion kit sitting here waiting for me to find the time/motivation to switch over the cvd's. hubs and wheels .
The truck on 4 lipos just flat out rips...much more torque than the Collari 30 I had in it and pretty close if not just a couple mph below the top speed it had with the nitro. It will flip over on it's lid if 'm not careful with the throttle even with a 10-15 mph rolling start .I ran it hard today on the 4s 3700 pack for the better part of 15 minutes before I could notice any battery lag whatsoever. Was still hitting second gear hard and still hadn't set off the LVC.

I'm probably going to buy FD motor mounts and use either his 8ight conversion clutchbell or mod1 pinions (If I can find them in stock somewhere ) on my cen matrix conversion but going with a feigao 540 8XL from ultimate hobbies and probably a mamba max controller to save a little money over what a kit might cost.
