i found some post's on other forums where people said they dont work properly.
is that true? or is that user error? thank you. |
Never had an issue. For proline and panther tires (and maybee some other brands) you need to get the rage rings to hold the thinner bead tighter. I think the newest version of the maximizer has replaced the rage rings with a simple shim that is included with the wheels.
All in all I like mine. as long as you assemble them right Ive never had one fail. I have 2 sets and have been running them for 1 1/2 years with no problems. The other cool thing is if you start with a black wheel set, you can just buy new face plates in different colors when you want to change wheel colors. The black tubes in the back blend with anything and any color face plate matches. Just change out the faceplates. You can also try out tires with diferent inserts and really dial in what you like. |
nice, very nice.
did you get them from mike? |
Imex Pins standard tires on proline rims for a medium to loose suface with proline grey foams work very well as do the proline 40 series bowtie i run a harder foam in the front to prevent little or no side wall roll for those hard packed sufaces, TRC grass tires work AWESOME on the grass the tire was designed for grass, MTR hole shots , i only have 1 set of these & have only used them the 1 time & was traction rolling on a hard packed surface (Need more practice on these, Imex Foams excelent grip on the tarmac i set an Australian MT speed record on these but they do blow off at 125kph ,Proline mulchers these are the best left for bashing ,A must for any racer is balancing all of your tires, i use lead .05mm thick sticky on 1 side,

I originally bought them with 14mm hexes and have since bought 17mm hex face plates for them. |
could you possibly post some pics of them?
also, how do the 14's hold up? thanks. |
The 14 held up fine. As well as any 14mm hex anyway. I'll see if I can snap a couple pics later and post them up. They dont look any diferent than on the maximizer website tough.
|
i ask bout the 14's cuz i read somewhere they where weak.
but i think i'll go 17 any way. thanks for the info. |

they still excist? thanks. |
The dirt hawgs are pretty good all around tire. It does not excel in any one spot but is a tall tire with decent traction.
If you go proline 40 series beadlocks. They will pull out on a hi speed run. The are great if you keep speed lower. The mulchers are a great tire for bashing. I don't race so can't say about that. They work good in the loose and grass. The maximizers are a good rim. It takes some serious punishment. |
good info CHC.
i'm still thinking the axial wheels i ordered wont work on the twin force. so then i need other wheels and most likely tires if i go MT size. i think the axials will rub the shocks.:mad:1 |
Is this for your woods runner. I am running big joes on my woods runner.
Since it don't go fast I have the beadlocks on it as well. They came on the truck so can't see in taking them off yet. :) |
i'll be bashing gently. 30mph i think.
will beadlocks be okay for that? |
they will be fine.
|
i know the 17mm maximizer beadlock weight is 100 grams.
how heavy is normal MT 17mm wheels (proline truggy wheel or so). |
