Ebay should be less than $10...

Sylvester 01.26.2007 03:29 PM

I saw a set of knuckles and driveshafts for 25 shipped on ebay. Pretty good deal. Too bad it ended.

GorillaMaxx360 01.26.2007 05:28 PM

is there any way to use sliders with hb diffs (dont think so but is there a converter that works and if not will there be one in the future)

Sylvester 01.26.2007 07:44 PM

There will be once mike comes out with the 1/8 scale diffs for the revo, it uses custom spiders so it will work with stockers.

BlackedOutREVO 01.27.2007 12:17 AM

WOW!!!!

now thats one heck of a truck!!! i love it!

GorillaMaxx360 01.27.2007 12:22 AM

i was messing around with my cvds and knuckles and i got an idea and it worked it turns out that i wont need to buy new knuckles, bearings, and diff cups for the tsais cvds to work i looked at the cvd and the ball cup there is a little bigger size in the cvd ball part but not much. So i will grind down the bigger ball intill it fits into the stock hb diff cup. I will then be able to use the stock maxx non 3.3 just emaxx knuckles. How you may ask (becuase the revo tsais cvds have a big hump on them where the axel is to go into a revo knuckle) i was testing around and i figured out that if i remove the first bearing (bearing clostest to inside of the vehicle not the one on the outside of the knuckle) i have the same size hole that the revo knuckles have to allowe revo cvds. It is kind of hard to explain but it works so i will be able to fit this cvd problem in no time with no moneyh being spent i will grind the cvd ball tomarrow and get pics asap.

coolhandcountry 01.27.2007 09:37 AM

Rene posted on how to make a axle shaft for it. I think also guerilla may have to. They use the 3.3 stub axle.

GorillaMaxx360 01.27.2007 10:49 AM

were is this post on how to do it(a little confused about what you are talking about)

coolhandcountry 01.27.2007 11:12 AM

The way I understand it is this. You take this part and cut the threads off it.
It will slide in the diff with out the drive cups. YOu then attach the slider.
Sounds easy enough but not sure how well it works cause haven't tried it yet.

GorillaMaxx360 01.27.2007 12:32 PM

tryed grinding the ball of it ended in disaster i totally grinded one of the balls so short that the pin came out and that was that these things have such big balls no amount of grinding will allow them to fit so i guess i learned my lesson today never ever EVER go the cheap rout todays little mistake will have my just buying 125 bucks in UE cvds to end this mess. One mistake cost me 120 bucks man my day is going crappy it will be another 12 weeks before i can order these things.

coolhandcountry 01.27.2007 01:23 PM

Could you try the mod on diffs to run the sliders until then?

GorillaMaxx360 01.27.2007 04:57 PM

yeah did not think of that so this conversion to allow sliders seems pretty easy huh. Cool did not think of that thanks coolhandcountry.

GorillaMaxx360 01.27.2007 06:21 PM

by the way has anybody tried this or where did you get how to do this.(where is the forum at)

GorillaMaxx360 01.27.2007 06:23 PM

Also how long untill the 1/8 diffs come out (guesstimate) and do you think mike will sell the individual parts to make the sliders work with the hb diffs

BJE 02.19.2007 10:06 PM

So, gorillamaxx360, any more updates on this? It looks really nice so far.

-Brad

GorillaMaxx360 02.19.2007 10:55 PM

Hey man no updates because unfortunally this is a slow project it will probably be a while before i have any huge updates.

t-maxxracer32 02.20.2007 12:15 AM

GorillaMaxx360 02.22.2007 07:28 PM

GorillaMaxx360 02.22.2007 09:05 PM

What do you guys think? Any questions comments concerns

_BTW i did the revo axel stubs thing to allow sliders to work with HB diffs and it works good

BlackedOutREVO 04.14.2007 05:00 PM

Sexy!!!!!!!!! Damn!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sjcrss 04.14.2007 07:45 PM

looks real nice....also if you want to strip the anno off of your proline steering aluminum components.....just soak them in liquid plumber or drano...or even Pequa.....let them sit in a bowl with the stuff for several minutes....then it will start to bubble...then just swish parts around in solution until the anno comes off.......then when it is off...run it all under cool water...then polish with Mothers aluminum polish.....just a FYI is all

GorillaMaxx360 04.14.2007 08:13 PM

thanks

ClodMaxx 04.14.2007 08:15 PM

it looks like he took the blue off the motor plate... how did you do that, gorillamaxx?

i've been sooooo close to pulling the trigger and getting those flextek arms. your shots are giving me an itchy trigger finger! :027:

very, very slick truck!

GorillaMaxx360 04.14.2007 08:30 PM

thanks. I used a wire brush and some sand paper to get off the anodizing. some blue does not bother me i just want it to be all contrasted not to silver, blue, red, black. mostly silver but a bit of everything eelse to make it look good. (P.S. Make your decision wisely-Not talking about arms- Just in general, before i looked at so many pics before i got my parts and that aided in my desision, but mine came to geather really well. But one thing you have to keep in mind is how things will look on different setups. For example the chassis looks hot on my car but it does not on other peoples)

ClodMaxx 04.14.2007 08:40 PM

so you're saying those arms won't look hot on my truck? :005:

thanks for the advice. i'm a noob on this forum, but not a noob to the hobby. i have my share of UE, GA, titanium, lunsford, proline, hitec 5955, spektrum, matched SPC racing cell packs etc. on my truck. i've learned the hard way - long ago - that form does not alway follow function. my only mistake was the hv system - but i'm holding out for the MMM. it may not be a $3000+ setup, but it is far above stock.

i'll leave how my ride 'looks' to the custom airbrushed true fire lid i'll be making for it soon. :027:

NO but i am saying that i have bought things just becase they looked really good on someones else's setup and it did not look as cool on mine. So i decieded to go more for functionallity and goodness and those items turned out to look cool to. Not at all trying it wont look good just try not to get sucked in to buying something that looks increadably good just for that reason. BUT it is hard not to do, Thats all man just dont want you to be disapionted that is a lot of money involved.

hi there iv got a gmaxx w/4.5 hvmaxx brushless single speed tranny flextek arms and 1/8 hb bulks like you; im having trouble finding cv's that are long enough and my turnbuckles are to short w/susp. arms & hb diffs; im taking my cv's to a local machine shop to have them extended 1/4" to fit just right!do you know where i can get longer turnbuckles?????

GorillaMaxx360 04.14.2007 10:01 PM

I would get UE cvds if they extend them they might be weak, and that will not be good. you can also use sliders just as strong but way cheaper. (but requires some mods) you can get some longer turnbuckles here for front here for rear.

jnev 04.15.2007 02:30 AM

Your maxx looks so awesome!!:004: :004: That si a whole lot fo moeny invested in it, but it should all be worth it.. :027: What else is left to do with it or buy?

overkill5000 04.15.2007 09:26 AM

GorillaMaxx360 04.15.2007 10:58 AM

the neu is way better than the HV motors the turnbuckles i showed you should work you can get them at your lhs if you ask them and give part numbers

overkill5000 04.15.2007 07:39 PM

novak

i like novak and i like my motor but i havent run it for about 5 months my truck is already alot different from last time i drove it; im intrested in a stronger motor is there a better novak i could get (i like novak)...

GorillaMaxx360 04.15.2007 08:01 PM

nope the 4.5 is novaks best and only monster truck motor system (besides the 6.5). i would go with something different than novak a lot of guys around here would recommend the same.

The*rc*dude 04.15.2007 08:07 PM
