kyosho total lenght: 64mm
hotbodies total lenght: 66.5mm kyosho outdrive cup:13.5mm hotbodies outdrive cup: 15mm |
cheers
what do you think about mounting it on top? it depends how high you run your TF i guess... i will be going for the hotbodes as i know where i can get them  i shall get measuring then.. hopefully all it will require is abit of cutting to the chassis plate and a mounting plate for the diff |
this mount would use stock holes and make the diff sit on top of the chassis using the stock motor mount cut in half ?? (should be strong enough hopefully)
http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/6132/faceey7.th.png http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/6179/slantrq9.th.png left is the front mount right is the back mount with this design all you need is some 5mm metal or plastic and a drill press cut one section 26mm by 45mm and the other 26mm by 26mm then drill the 16mm hole for bearing in correct position im currently going to get some plastic of some kinda and try and make it to see how well it will work... it does move the drive cup positions so im hoping the dogbones can still be used :018: |
i dont understand good, you want to move the diff on top of the tranny plate?:002:
|
yes :026:
well this will require the suspension to be set low... but this is the design i have current come up with... either this or a new motor mount will also be required as this was the only was i could see to make the 50t sput and 14/15/16t pinion meet |
so stock gearing is 21.71:1
with 50t spur and 13t pinion on diff it is 11:1 (dunno if you would help me on this) if so i would plan to run the 44t spur and a 23t pinion i should get a 5.5:1 ratio :027: why you ask well at 27500 rpm with stock tranny it does what 25mph so at 400000 it must do around 38mph so if the ratio is around 4:1 then i am hoping to run an out-runner brushless motor for more torque (5 to 8 times as much as a inrunner) and they run at about 12,000 rpm lets say so that would be the same as 48,000 rpm on stock tranny so 45mph :004: these are very rough estimates.. but im looking at different possibilites, like you said the gearing would be high with this set-up |
