If the batteries are cold, then they can't put out as much power as when they are room temp. How cold were they? And it could have been the LVC kicking in that caused the stuttering, to prevent the cells from dropping below the LVC voltage.

Hey Sylvester - great conversion!
I'll be using the same motor in my CRT conversion - so . . . what motor mount and heat sink are you running? Is that one of the RC-Monster's? |
MM- inside my workplace was around or maybe a bit below room temps, which i think was the cause of the stuttering since i doubt the 8K's would have problems delivering the juice.
Sower- Thanks! I made the motor mount my self on a mill. Im running a XL heatsink from Mike, and really, i dont think i need it, i may be a little over geared since my esc got a bit hotter, my motor was warm through out the whole run.. gotta love lehners!:) |
Nice. I've heard the Lehners are a pretty cool running motor. I'm looking forward to that. If they ever get in stock!
My rolling chassis will arrive this week - can't wait to get started. I'll be running the MM esc though, along with two 4900 Trakpowers. Not sure about the pinion tooth count yet though. |
Cool running- thats for sure! They should be in stock in march for sure!
Be sure to show us your conversion, im sure it will be nice! I am thinking of the 2 4900 trackpower lipos, but for now, the maxamps are more than enough. |

I know how that feels, but after all the waiting, and until the day you drive it, you will be amazed at how it performs.. you will have a big :) on your face !

That's where this forum is like gold. All you guys on here are a huge resource. Getting all these different prototypes, finding out what works for people, and the technical info. It's awesome. |
Yeah, info is info, but real life experience is a much better source of getting the right parts for the "perfect rc" :)
|
Well well, found my old thread..
Truggy has seen a few changes.. -Upper buggy arm mod -8mm axle conversion~23mm dace adaptor -22 Degree hubs -Bow tie MTR's on white 23mm HD wheels. -Hitec 5955TG servo (HIGHLY RECCOMENDED for any conversion, amazing is all i have to say) Biggest changes i have made are MM esc, and Flightpower 3700 4s packs. Thanks to Serum i got these, i think he made me want these more than anything! Will post pics once lipo arrives and get mount for battery done, this time it will be aluminum, not nylon. |
Almost forgot, Mugen steering rods up front, Doubled up ackerman steering plate, and LST shiney dogbones up front and in the rear. Looks much better imo:)
|
Should be sweet! If you are going to make your battery trays out of aluminum, I would suggest you put foam in it to protect the lipos. Thats what I did for a little extra insurance...
Again sweet! Bye:018: |
Thanks CG! Yea, i will be using foam for sure! How is your ride coming along? Any new pics? :)

Hey Sylvester,
What kind of run times are you getting with the flightpower 3700 batts in your set up? |
A good hard 20 minute run.
