I honestly dont care about a lil extra weight...... But FLM stuff is nice

Have any links to them? How much are they? And are they just as strong as the FLM's?

suicideneil 10.31.2007 09:46 AM

NewEra

GARC

Both are 6061 t6, though GARC also do 7075 t6 which is more expensive, but much stronger.

BlackedOutREVO 10.31.2007 08:29 PM

Do you think the new ERA's are good?

For the price, I would DEF take them! Are they as good as FLM's?

suicideneil 10.31.2007 10:33 PM

That I cant answer, but there is one guy on the traxxas forum who has just bought some for use with his emaxx- he also bought the NewEra aluminum chassis (cant think who it is at the moment). NewEra stuff is generally really nice for the price though- I was very happy with the TXT-1 parts I bought back in the day, very high quality and precise. For what its worth, I think they look very robust, and are made of 6061 t-6 (same as the FLM stuff), so I guess its a case of personal taste; curvy FLM stuff vs aluminum version of stock but more solid....

I actually think I might put 300 into my revo, and do a revo conversion

Get a 3.3 chassis, new diffs (maybe hybrids?) and a few other parts, and do that

suicideneil 11.01.2007 09:48 AM

That would be even better- the Revo is such a good racer, and with a few upgrades a good basher too. The Hybrids are a must though with BL power, but after that its just the motor mount, custom battery tray & some MOD1 pinions to pick up.

BlackedOutREVO 11.01.2007 10:14 AM

Mine will be basher, and extreme basher hehe, I kow I can really bash my revo, and it will take it....

Whats the list do you think?

suicideneil 11.02.2007 06:36 PM

List for the conversion parts you mean?

Motor mount
Motor mount chassis brace
Battery tray
rx mount/plate
Ubec
RCM hybrid revo/1:8 scale diff kit x2
MOD 1 pinions
Motor - depends on what cell count you run
ESC- same again.
Long travel suspension rockers
Selection of springs maybe
Single steering servo upgrade/mod maybe

If its to be a basher then locking the tranny into 2nd is probably best so you still have motor reversing & braking ability. If you can wait a little while the MMM will be here in Feb (fingers crossed), or the new Novak sensored system for MTs will be here in the newyear (Im very excited about this one), or you can go the MM/MGM & Feigao/ NEU route.

BlackedOutREVO 11.03.2007 01:09 AM

Motor mount chassis brace, ??? Whats that?

4s, Im hoping for the MMM, and NEU combo

Already have LT rockers on it

Need a servo for sure

BP-Revo 11.03.2007 02:37 AM

Long Travel rockers are NOT the rockers you want to be using for anything other than rock crawling and when running over VERY rough areas where you need the travel.

However, the progressive rate of the rockers are horrible and you pretty much can't do anything other than drive over rough stuff (can't really jump or corner fast).

BlackedOutREVO 11.03.2007 11:20 PM

Which ones do I want?

I dont like the LT's because they make the suspension soooo soft, My set up came to be 100wt oil, those rockers, and the hardest springs the car came with, and it was good

squeeforever 11.03.2007 11:21 PM

P2 rockers are pretty much the best all around.

BP-Revo 11.03.2007 11:36 PM

I personally like P3's. I have P3's on both my G2R and my 2.5R, and they are awesome. On my 2.5R, I'm really impressed with how well they absorb bumps yet keep the truck stable on pavement even though I'm using rather high ride height settings.

BlackedOutREVO 11.04.2007 12:16 AM

Bah

I dont know how much jumping I will do, but will be running off road, so I need a mix

Too many decisions lol

suicideneil 11.04.2007 05:36 PM

Engine mount brace I know what I ment... It helps to strengthen the area where the motor mount bolts onto the engine mount thing- prevents flex & broken spurs from mis-alignment etc.

BlackedOutREVO 11.04.2007 05:58 PM

Ohhh

Ok, thanks!
