That's a pretty good point. I guess I'm open to spacers and what you said makes pretty good sense. I wonder how well the XT8 shocks will hold up to bottoming out on jumps. That's one thing I really like about the larger diameter trend in the new CRT and 8-T shocks.

squeeforever 10.30.2007 06:20 PM

From what I've read, the XT8 seems to be THE truggy. When I was gonna get a buggy, it sure seemed as though the XB8TQ was the buggy of all buggys and I don't doubt it. The XT8 is only better from what I've heard, and judging by that, thats saying alot. The 2 XB8's that were at my local track would DOMINATE the entire buggy class. For the most part it was XB8, MBX5, and then a mixture of Ofnas and such. People swear by the X-Ray.

Sower 10.30.2007 06:22 PM

Wow. Thanks for the input Squee. I'll have to admit . . . I have yet to hear anyone say ANYTHING negative about the XT8. Granted, it hasn't been out for long, but still that's pretty impressive.

Anyone have input on how well the XT8's shocks perform?

tallyram 10.30.2007 08:41 PM

so far mine are great, sower. you can use different pistons and tune the shock however you want it.

squeeforever 10.30.2007 09:06 PM

Yea, if your racing, you might wanna try the Fiorinni (sp?) shock pistons. There really nice from what I've seen. I'm gonna try some when I get a chance. There not cheap though...

tallyram 10.31.2007 06:56 AM

yup!

Mailman 10.31.2007 07:56 AM

I am in the process of converting a XT8 at the moment too. Mine will see some light bashing (back yard, ball diamond etc.) but mostly racing. I couldn't bring myself to run it like some of the guys here do their trucks. I would convert a Revo or a LST for that. Like tallyram said - the Xray's are just too pretty.

Nice, thanks for the input. How about the turning radius? Does the XT8 turn on a dime like the 8ight-T?

even though its too pretty as long as you give it a good clean it should be fine. i would convert some beastly ass savage if i was going to be a pure basher but i plan on racing the thing everry couple weekends im sure.

bashing will get old after a while unless you are finding new spots all the time so racing them will be my thing to do when i get bored!

from what monster mike told me, the steering is as good as the 8t! you should ask him, he's driven both trucks.

Sower 10.31.2007 12:35 PM

Nice - well, it actually doesn't matter. I bought a sweet XT8 off eBay about 20 minutes ago.

Let the revolution begin!!

Seriously though, I'm stoked about it and can't wait to get it.

tallyram 10.31.2007 01:05 PM

congrats!

Sower 10.31.2007 01:09 PM

Thanks! Yeah, I can't wait. This one is very slightly used and has a bunch of upgraded parts on it so I feel great about it. I'll end up selling off some of the nitro parts to compensate for the buy it now price. Here's what I bought:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=011

t-maxxracer32 10.31.2007 01:19 PM

ya i was looking at it earlier today before you bought it. if i had more money right now it would have been mine!

great buy

Sower 10.31.2007 01:21 PM

Yeah, I thought it was pretty good. Especially once you add up the option and extra parts that are included. By the way, one of the things that clinched it for me was studying the dimensions of the XT8 vs. the Losi 8-T. They are almost identical. Once I found that out I was pretty confident in getting it. Not to mention the durability issues I was learning about with the 8-T.

t-maxxracer32 10.31.2007 01:32 PM

thats cool!

if i end up etting an xt8 maybe you will be willing to sell one of those sweet bodies =P

let me know how you like it!

Sower 10.31.2007 01:37 PM

Yeah, I will actually be selling both bodies. That new custom one looks pretty sweet, don't you think? I just want to paint one myself though. :mdr:

t-maxxracer32 10.31.2007 01:43 PM

haha ya they both are amazing.

i might buy 2fasts savage if i can afford it.

if not i will talk to you about the bodies!

Sower 10.31.2007 02:33 PM

Sounds good. I'll be throwing them on eBay next week if I don't hear from you.

t-maxxracer32 10.31.2007 03:04 PM

pmed ya

BlackedOutREVO 10.31.2007 08:51 PM

I think a xray would be AWESOME

If I could race 8th scale, I would have a XT8 so fast!

gtxracer 10.31.2007 10:38 PM

XT8 if I had a choice. I'd go with the MMM too, which is what I plan to do. Either I'm gonna go with another Revo or I'm gonna do a truggy. I just want it to be big, fast, powerful, and most importantly, insane. I think a 1/8 drivetrain is in order for it though, hehe. :)

t-maxxracer32 10.31.2007 10:43 PM

ya thats what im lookin for. a beast of a truck.

and if the MMM is out then maybe.

gtxracer 11.01.2007 02:52 AM

Didn't they say Jan? That's not too far off, I'm already saving :p

t-maxxracer32 11.01.2007 03:44 AM

o well thats when i will be buying it anyways!

whats the price?

gtxracer 11.01.2007 11:42 AM

Under $300 street price.

t-maxxracer32 11.01.2007 12:26 PM

o well maybe i will get it. idk

ill just see how it goes.

Sower 11.01.2007 12:34 PM

I'm with you on that t-maxxracer32. My intentions are to use the MMM, but I'm not in a hurry on the power system. I just know I'll be running 6s in my XT8 and ripping tires off the rims under WOT.

If people that start using the MMM say it's not that great, I'll go with the Tekin and a Neu. We'll see what happens. Exciting either way though!

Holy crap - I just hit #400 posting!!!

t-maxxracer32 11.01.2007 01:24 PM

your not gonna go with the mgm's?

ya idk what im going completely. ik that thre will be a TON of reviews on the MMM once it hits stores. if they are awsome then why get mgm or anything else?

i cant say for sure what im going to do because i always contradict EVERYTHING!!

so idk.

Sweet.

If I had to guess right now, I would say I will go MMM based on my past experience with the Mamba and Mamba Max. We'll see though. Tekin might come out with an incredible product too. I've seen them race their prototypes here locally and it looks pretty dang good.

t-maxxracer32 11.01.2007 01:42 PM

aw lucky! we have nothing cool like that here!! i have to travel a couple hours for a nice big track!!

anyways.

if right now i were to say what im going to do...
xt8
neu 2.5d
5s evo 30s
mgm or MMM

but you just watch.. EVERYTHING will change!

just right now im debating whether to buy 2fastss savage!! IDK!!!

t-maxxracer32 11.02.2007 12:17 AM

EDIT.

XT8 > GF's X-Mas Present (sorry t-maxxracer's gf)

lol jk - you'll want to buy her the X-Max present first...but make sure you have enough left over for the XT8 hehehe...

t-maxxracer32 11.02.2007 10:15 AM

lol i just need to finish selling my stuff then ill be able to afford both!

well hopefully...

t-maxxracer32 11.03.2007 04:22 PM

so i was thinking.

idk how often i am going to race this thing so is there a truck that would be nice for a basher/racing combo?

i still dont knwo why.. but i dont think the xt8 can take bashing..

jnev 11.03.2007 06:00 PM

I am sure the XT8 can handle bashing durability wise, but it is designed and made for racing. If you buy it, you at least have to use it to its full potential which is on the race track. If you still want a truggy, I think the CRT is overall a great basher and racer.

Good luck with the decision.

t-maxxracer32 11.03.2007 06:25 PM

well... i am not certain how nice the track is down in NC.. i will be down there for xmas so i am gong to try and convince my g/f to let me go there just to check it out!

if the track is complete crap or noone goes.. or it is rundown or something then i am not sure what i am going to do. NC is not the best place for bashing.. i mean theres nothing really where i will be going... but by christmas time i should have almost a complete setup (my g/f will prolly buy the battery/motor, servo then i will buy whatever she doesnt buy and the controller after xmas.) lets say the track is HORRIBLE and not even worth it. i might go with a savage or revo. savage. prolly the beastliest truck out there. revo can go both ways... but requires some upgrades. (i figure i either buy a 600 xt8 roller... or a g3r revo with the 1/8 diffs) or a savage x.. or IDK!! i guess it all depends on the track there.

where i live we have a pretty nice track but the owner is a deushe (i think thats how you spell it) its really pathetic... i dont wanna go to the track because of the owner.. but o well.

christmas will tell me what to do!

squeeforever 11.03.2007 09:15 PM

If "The Farm" is the track, then its not rundown or deserted, its infact one of the nicest tracks in the country.

t-maxxracer32 11.03.2007 09:21 PM

where is "the farm" located?

i tried finding a website for it... but didnt find much.
