Hey mike. I thought i would let you know. I love this thing now. I put the integy racer x with the ue shocks. This thing has never drove so good. I hammer on it a little harder to since not worried about the diffs either. I have to say thanks mike. Thanks alot. It dirves like a toy train on a track. Even with big bulky tires. I need to try my low pro tires out. Still haven't adjust the caster chamber and toe though. It may drive better if i get that set up.

RC-Monster Mike 08.28.2005 12:28 PM

Cool. A properly set up maxx drives like a Porche compared to the stocker!

Shadow350Z 08.28.2005 01:59 PM

after seeing that pic i feel so sad inside
man the whole front is bent

It don't look like that no more shadow. It is back together straight. Take a look. It is a little dirty. But it is straight.

Serum 08.28.2005 03:10 PM

Yeah, that's the spirit!

Drive it!

coolhandcountry 08.28.2005 03:27 PM

They look nice on the shelf. They look better while the dirt is being throwed from under the tires. You have more fun driving than looking at it.

Shadow350Z 08.28.2005 03:35 PM

nice super extended Gmaxx
how does it handle??
love your truck
glad to see its straight

coolhandcountry 08.28.2005 03:45 PM

It handles so good that I don't think i go back to a regular gmaxx. I go hillclimbing some. Don't worry about the truck flipping over. It don't wheelie much though. It pick the front tires up a little but not like it used to.

Serum 08.28.2005 03:53 PM

Wheelies.. Who needs them anyways..

With a 16-18 cells setup, you are happy when the front wheels stay on the ground..

Wheelie means less power to be put to the ground for launch.. So .. Wheelie=BAD.... (lesson two in take off) IMO you need a truck that launches so fast, than once you puchned the throttle, it should be at the horizon.. Not showing his upsidedowndriveability.. (is that even a word??!)

coolhandcountry 08.28.2005 04:05 PM

You got a good point in that serum. Front wheels in air is bad. I has a good holeshot(aka take off). Not only that it used to piss me off when i pulled the trigger to hard. Then had to go get the truck back on it's wheels. Seems like my truck stays flatter when you jump it. It used to rock some. Now it seems to stay parralel with the ground.

coolhandcountry 08.28.2005 05:17 PM

Does any body have suggestions on the best setup for the chamber caster and toe front and back both need to be set.

Shadow350Z 08.28.2005 06:02 PM

hey 2wd sometimes help in jumping
well for me
i was jumping my maxx when it was 2wd since the center shafts twisted and broke off

when it was 2wd it was nose heavy

coolhandcountry 08.28.2005 07:10 PM

Mine don't seem to be nose heavy nor rear heavy. I seems like it flys like it has wings. I has been about 7-8 feet in the air. Lands like perfect. I wish I would have done some of the stuff done now along time ago. I am happy with truck. Just need to adjust that alignment.

Shadow350Z 08.28.2005 07:48 PM

oh i made a mistake on the earlier post didnt realize till now
i mean it WASNT nose heavy when it was 2wd

coolhandcountry 08.28.2005 09:04 PM

Okay. If you let off the gas all the way. The back drag of the motor with a low gearing will slow the tires down and twist the truck. If you know what i mean. But it's all good there shadow. Don't worry I have stocker here with the shafts twisted up in it. Haven't broke but one wheel one. I have some rd logics and mip centers to put in it. Took of the other truck. I can say that the ue shafts seem to be a lot better built for a little more money.

RC-Monster Mike 08.28.2005 10:43 PM

I run as little castor as possible on my g-maxxes for maximum steering (all the clips to the front). With a longer chassis, you don't need a lot of toe, either. I like 0 degrees toe in the front(straight) and abvout 1-2 degrees in the rear. -1degree camber all around. Give it a shot and see how you like it.

rchippie 08.28.2005 10:48 PM

Mike for maxxium caster should'nt you put the clips in the back. Thats what i've always been told.

RC-Monster Mike 08.28.2005 10:52 PM

Yes. More castor = less steering on the maxx, though. As little castor as possible = clips all the way to the front.

coolhandcountry 08.29.2005 09:48 PM

Is that 1-2 degrees out in the front of the rear tires. I just want to make sure. I have to change the caster in front the toe is set right in front Now. I thought it drove good with out having an alignment. :lol

RC-Monster Mike 08.29.2005 10:04 PM

i-2 degrees IN in the front of the rear tires-so they point slightly towards the inside of the truck

coolhandcountry 08.30.2005 07:40 AM

OK thanks mike. Have to give it a try and see what happens. I hope it drives even better. I have to say them ue shocks seem to be the stuff. Not as pretty as the msr5. I think i need to stiffen springs up a touch to. The arms are a little down in the inside. I take care of alignment first. If I get a chance to get another video I get it up.

RC-Monster Mike 08.30.2005 09:23 AM

The UE shocks work extremely well. I use four shocks, with red srpings and about 90 weight oil. For 8 shocks, I would use about 50 weight oil and the white springs to start with.

Serum 08.30.2005 04:39 PM

Yeah, the UE shocks are very good! i use them in sets of 4 too, a 8 shock setup with those shocks is not needed.

coolhandcountry 09.02.2005 07:58 PM

I went with the eight setup. 50 weight oil. I tried the red and white springs. It seemed a little soft. I steped up to blue and red an the corners. Man does it ride good. Something done went crazy in reciever or something. Truck gone crazy on me. You do 10 endos and it goes bezerk go figure. Have to fix it now.

coolhandcountry 09.06.2005 01:16 PM

Receiver is good. Ubec has shorted out on chassis made truck go crazy. Steering servo has turned on way and won't stop. Have new servo and Ubec. Have to take back out for test drive.

Dafni 09.06.2005 01:42 PM

Sorry to hear. How could this happen? Stuff not shrinked poperly?

coolhandcountry 09.06.2005 05:47 PM

Had it shrinked and then taped around it to. One of the soldering points stuck through and bam. Instant toast. This is like the thrid or forth servo though. I going to switch brands. See if I have better luck.

squeeforever 09.11.2005 06:57 PM

what were you running? i had a bluebird 630-mg fry on my when i plugged it in

coolhandcountry 09.11.2005 08:37 PM

I was running a ubec with futuba reciever. It like my thrid or fourth one. I lost track. I know they don't cost much but the down time hurts. Make me crazy on withdrawl. :)

coolhandcountry 09.18.2005 09:19 PM

I got the ubec fixed. Put another servo on. The truck has been doing great. I like it even more now than before. Drives excellent. Looks as if it floats over the bumps. Have run a few more packs threw it this weekend. Had only one problem. Pole jumped out in front me. Minor damage. Broke end on turnbuckle. Have to say thanks mike and all my supporters. :D Can't wait to try bigger motor.

RC-Monster Mike 09.18.2005 09:24 PM

darn poles! Glad you are back up and running.

coolhandcountry 10.16.2005 07:42 PM

Basketti 10.17.2005 06:44 AM

Nice CHC!! I cant wait till i get my e-maxx built!!:)

coolhandcountry 10.17.2005 08:02 AM

I thought it fit(music). blew out one tire and broke both body mounts with a battery strap. It was not a bad day. :D Mounted my new tire last night. I may go out with 18 cells and try it again.

coolhandcountry 10.24.2005 07:04 PM

Some people wanted to know what a 9xl would do on 12 cells. I got a short clip of some action today. Nothing like a monday off to play with RC. :D

crazyjr 10.24.2005 07:33 PM

Cool. I like that. How long will it run on 12 cells

coolhandcountry 10.24.2005 08:24 PM

http://www.rcpics.net/img/67100
I didn't upload the whole video. Here is a little bit longer one. It shows more of the truck. I did not time my self crazy. I geared the truck with a 16 51 ue rears and a single gmaxx tranny. It should be as close to stock gearing if figures was right. I got about 17-18 minutes on a pack but the cells sat for a while. It only took about 2400mah on charge. I can get back to you on the run time if you like.
