The chassis isn't finished yet, it will be made in 6061 aluminum, it's only a prototype. The aluminum with plastic between the two plates is called "alucobon" and it comes from here
http://www.timcomposites.fr/produits-alucobond.asp I don't know if you can find it in the United states Thanks for your comments a++ |

OMGOMGOMG, Thats sick! Is that motor mount a little bit twisted or is it just a camera angle?
Make sure you do a video about this beast! |
It must be a camera angle, because the motor mount is very strong and large
Like on this pics http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/9...800x600qt6.jpg http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/5...800x600ok7.jpg http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/9...800x600vv6.jpg |
Yeah, just looks like a bit of 'fish-eye' type distortion from the camera lens.
Awesome build Gone, should be a serious bit of truck when its completed. |
Yeah, I thought that too.. Gone have you calculated the speeds on that setup http://scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/?
|
The top Speed will be about 50 mph (80 km/h) on 1st gear and about on 2nd gear 62 mph (99 km/h)
1st gear Differential Ratio: 26/9 Transmission Ratio: 0.25 Other Ratio: 1 Spur Tooth Count: 43 Pinion Tooth Count: 17 Total Voltage: 22.2 Motor KV: 2300 Tire Diameter (inches): 5.8 Tire Ballooning (inches): 0 Motor Current Draw: 150 Motor coil Ω: 0 Spur/Pinion Ratio: 2.53 : 1 Total Ratio: 16.44118 : 1 Tire Circumference (inches): 18.22 inches (462.82 mm) Total Motor Speed: 51060 RPM Vehicle Speed: 53.59 mph (86.08 km/h) Effective Speed Rate: 2.41 mph/V (3.88 kmh/V) Estimated Adjusted Speed: 50 mph (80 km/h) - 7% loss Effective KV Value: 2300 Motor Torque: 0.46 ft-lbs Final Torque: 7.55 ft-lbs Final Power: 3330 watts (4.5 HP) 2nd gear Differential Ratio: 26/9 Transmission Ratio: 0.25 Other Ratio: 1 Spur Tooth Count: 39 Pinion Tooth Count: 21 Total Voltage: 22.2 Motor KV: 2300 Tire Diameter (inches): 5.8 Tire Ballooning (inches): 0 Motor Current Draw: 150 Motor coil Ω: 0.01 Spur/Pinion Ratio: 1.86 : 1 Total Ratio: 12.07143 : 1 Tire Circumference (inches): 18.22 inches (462.82 mm) Total Motor Speed: 47610 RPM Vehicle Speed: 68.05 mph (109.32 km/h) Effective Speed Rate: 3.07 mph/V (4.92 kmh/V) Estimated Adjusted Speed: 62 mph (99 km/h) - 9% loss Effective KV Value: 2144.59 Motor Torque: 0.46 ft-lbs Final Torque: 5.54 ft-lbs Final Power: 3330 watts (4.5 HP) :diablo::na: |
Wow! I'd expect about 55 max because of the massive amount of drag that truck will have.
|
I'm sure that thing will go faster than 60MPH... 3330 watts is a lot of power...
|
Yeah, my XTM is longer and maybe a little heavier and it has no problems breaking 70mph, except for keeping it on the ground.
|
This is such an awesome project. Great job on the truck gone!! Looking forward to the video(s) and the finished product.
|
thanks you . Now, I need to a new charger, I would like charge my both lipo 6S 4900mah 25c at the same time, I think to a Hyperion EOS0610i DUO or a power peak infinity 3, but what is the best ?
http://www.impaktrc.com/images/HP-EOS0610iDUO.jpg http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...60SRLCB12S.jpg |
I would get the hyperion, only $60 more, built in balancer, and 360 Watts.. double the charge output..... I love mine... all of them.. :)
|
I would say the Hyperion too, though both look rather awesome.

Yes I have the tubing on all of the pistons. Works good. I have also found the other trick is to strap the front suspension with zip ties to not allow the front suspension to unload, essentially making the front end dead weight. |

I'll try to make my own body out of fiberglass or I might buy one of those oval truck bodies and modify it to work with my truck.
|
you could use the firehammer 1/5th scale shocks.. they're about the same size, but the firehammer shocks are very stiff.... and you'll only need 4 instead of 8...
Gone, how far is your GST done?... I can't wait to see it.. |
Hello, I must make a choice, I keep my esc mgm 224-18 or I sell it for the MMM, the mgm has problems according some users :na::bad::bad::bad:, so what have I to do ?

Cool deal.
The 1527 1D is an amp hog....whichever controller you get it better have at least a 200 amp rating. |

Very nice rig! IMO, you should get some bigger wheels and tires, and maybe a new body. Overall though verrrrry nice truck!
|
Yes, I will change my body, but I will keep my wheels and tires
Thanks |
Good. What body are you planning?
|
A proline crowd pleazer , I bought revolution ceramic bearing from avidrc too, but I haven't got pictures
Thanks you |
Eh.... I'm not a fan of the "truggy body on tvp style chassis monster trucks" because it shows the guts of the trucks, and for something so expensive (to me) it just doesn't look right.
