Pretty impressive

Pretty impressive if you ask me. DId the mounting hardware come with it as well? I like the way that whole setup looks. I have worked on industrial size motors that look very similar on a much larger scale. At least if you can use that mounting setup it will be very secure with little chance of damage from too much motor weight. I look forward to seeing just how you apply this to your truck setup. Can you provide a link for that motor. I may want to acquire one for myself. Nice choice if it holds up to your application.

Jerry - the mounting hardware was the old clamps supplied from 44mm Lehner, I just had an adapter ring made in the workshop at my office.

I bought the motor from:

I had some minor mail conversation during the purchase. and the response was fast and polite. The package was shipped from HK, and the declared value was set to 29USD, I don't remember that I asked for it, but it slipped through the customs.. (which my other package with airplanes didn't)

Thanks

Thanks for the info. How does this motor compare to the Neu 1521 or 1527? Just curious as to the power ratings compared to the Neu motors.

mckrill 09.21.2010 07:20 AM

I think (from reading other posts) that the power rating is similar to the 1527. The dimensions are more or less the same. I have the logg-function installed, so I will post some readings when I have tested it (given that the Schulze is OK)..

Sounds good.

Sounds good to me. I think I may end up getting one of these for one of my projects. Looking forward to seeing your results.

I made a small test set up for the Lehner and the Typhoon this evening.

12s and a 8040 prop on the shaft.

First, the test run with the lehner, the throttle was kept fairly constant, I is the ESC shutting down. After this short test run the ESC was quite warm..

And here the same test with the Typhoon

This was actually the first time I pulled the Lehner out of the truck and had a chance to examine it - I'm fairly sure that the rotor lost the magnetism. I'll call the Lehners tomorrow and see what they say. A new rotor costs apx 150Eur.

:surprised:... gosh... it sure looks like a motor issue... it's behaving the same way as my Hacker just before it gave up... hope Lehner will help you out...

Jahay 09.21.2010 07:46 PM

hopefully the motor gets sorted!!!

Damn Right! RC PORN right there!!! i want to run those for my 9s setup!!! please tell me how they perform compared to the hyperions.. i am throwing mine away too... bloody soldering keeps failing!

mckrill 09.22.2010 05:29 AM

Test is coming when I have the Lehner back. Lehner came back within the hour and asked me to send it back for examination and repair.

I don't expect the Typhoon to such big challenge for the Lipos, but I'll give it a try. Unfortunately the typhoon is not a "plug and play" as it is too short, I hope for the weekend.

ANGRY-ALIEN 09.22.2010 08:28 AM

Cool... just keep your fingers crossed... hope they find the problem and replace it...
