Thats good to hear, i actually did reverse the controller instead of switching the wires to get it spinning the right way, maybe thats why the brakes were dodgy, looking forward to hearing about your results!

I sent in 3 MGM controllers two weeks ago and I'm thinking I wont get them back for another 2+ months.. :no: How long did your take ???:wink:

Hey Jordan tried switching the wires but it just leads to other problems. ARGGHHHH:grrrrrr:
When you switch the motors wires around reverse on the controller becomes forward so if you limit reverse like i do than you only get 40% forward throttle and the brakes still aren't anything special, or that much better really.:cry:
Having a Futaba radio means that you need to reverse the throttle channel to set the transmitter limits, if you set it to standard the controller wont pick up the signal and set limits. I will try a different brand of transmitter tonight and see what happens. Otherwise i will be selling two 28025 controllers, 2 2s 8000 batteries 2 3s 5000 batteries, a lehner 1940 1600KV motor and a brand new Hacker C50 1600Kv motor if anyone is interested and serious about anything mentioned above please PM me.

hmmmm... nice findings there, maybe that first run with the MGM i had, i was only getting 40% throttle :neutral: AARGHH it seems really confusing, is that why your getting rid of the MGM? Are you going for an MMM now (wont be dissapointed, much easier to program, but on the down side, not as good specs wise)?

Sorry for the late reply Shaun, was over east and just got back today. Good news!!! I just sent the payment through to Neu and should get the motor shipped back express ASAP. That means by the middle of next week i should be up and running :party: As for the MGM customer service, make sure to contact Martin Dvorsky with any queries, he was very prompt with replies and was really helpful.

As for the timeframe, it took around 1 month, that was over chrissy and new years, so there were some delays there, also it got held up at customs for a week and a half becasue i wrote it was worth $450 AU :whip: So i would assume it would take under a month if the problems are not to major :neutral:

yeah thats one of the reasons i am getting rid of it. i run my neu with my mmm. the mmm cant handle the plettenberg on start up. it cogs regardless of timing or start power. Will try a schulze see what happens. I put a lot of stuff on ebay today one of the MGM is there. It still works just fine if you want a spare, there are some motors as well. I started a thread on it in the general section

Fair enough, i see wha you mean why you cant use the MMM. Schulze is worth a shot i guess, they're a little old now though arent they? But i guess they were designed with Pletty's in mind. I saw your items for sale, i would be all over that lehner if it had a 5mm shaft, and if i didnt have to make a new motor mount to use it :lol:

Ok, so i got my motor back today, smooth can 1527!! Had it back together in no time and ready for a run, unfortunately i shorted one of the lipos on the pinion gear, dont ask :no: But luckily i 'very carefully' put a charge through it and it held up fine. i was bracing to throw it out the back door if it burst into flames :lol:

Unfortunately after about 3-4 speed runs i ripped 3 of the times off of the UE rims. Here is a pic, no joke, i just pulled the wheels off and took the pic. Couple more layers of duct tape should do the job.

Hey Jordan nice to see you finally having some fun with it. With that much power you need to put some Axial beadlock rims on that monster. It looks plenty powerful enough to do some damage. I am looking at doing something very similar with my UE Lightning SuperMaxx. I have a double monoblock on it, and plan to extend the width 2 inches to give it a little bit more stability for running some high speed passes. What batteries are you running in that again? How were all of your temps this time? How is the drivetrain holding up for you? Everything looked ok from the videos. Have fun man.

Hey Jerry, yes i've seen your crazy stretched lightning :lol: Cant wait to see it running, are you still going to put a Bolido in it :whistle: I'm running 2 5s 5000mah Neuenergy packs in parallel. The V1's mind you, just a slower charge rate i think. As for temps, it was really hot out, around 95 F, so i cut the run short a little bit. They were;

motor: 130-150F
batts: 110-120F
ESC: 120-140F (fan came on a couple of times, but after 30 seconds went off)

The drivetrain is holding up really well, make sure you run hardened steel pinions and spurs on your speed machine, no melting here. Really happy with the UE gear, certainly doing its job. The RC alloys dogbones are really beefy as well, you'll definately be pleased with them!

Yes Sir I am looking forward to playing with mine as well, but it will be much like yours in the way of taking my time to do it right. As you saw even with all of your careful planning things still can go wrong. I am still considering the Bolido, or maybe even the 1527 like you. Either way if I gear it up and do some experimenting I should be able to reach some pretty impressive speeds when the time comes. Its all good.

I had given up on the idea of running a 1527 because i didnt think the MMM would handle it. But that looks like it will handle it just fine:yipi::yipi::yipi::yipi:. I may have to use the aluminium G3R chassis i have lying around. And make up a custom rear dog bones.

Nice to hear that you got it running again. That thing is powerful, dang. Could even hear the tires ripping off the rims when hitting the gas on turns..
You have quite much battery weight on there now. That would be crazy with smaller lipos.. But on the otherhand that motor must take a lot of juice from them.

Did you record that with iphone? Heard some ringtone from it.

Thanks man, i am wondering how i could cut some weight. Im tempted to just get 2 3s zippys and chuck em on there for a fang. But like you said, not sure how they would handle the amp draw. Haha, that was my dads iphone, he's the cameraman.

Yeah it would be good. I just ordered my schulze speedy. I think i will run the CF C3R with the Big maxximum and have the alloy set up as to swap the running gear when i wanted to run 1527. They are really cheap when compared to other motors out there as well.
