True!!...

A BigMaxx on 5S is awesome!.... the dual BigMaxx will just tear up your drivetrain, drive shafts will twist, due to the shear strenght and weight of the truck..

What's the total weight of your truck with the dual BigMaxx..?

If your using 12 cells on each esc now, I'd use 2 4s packs of the same age and specs. If you use 1 4s pack on each side you won't be able to sit some of the batteries under the chassis like you do now obviously, but I wouldn't want to do that with lipo anyway.
Your chassis looks like it will hold more than 6 nimh cells length ways, so if you have about 165-170mm of space I'd look for the longer style lipos since they sit a bit lower than a normal length pack of similar capacity. I'd probably go for the 5000mah 25c enerland cells (flightpower, poyquest and a few other brands that I forgot), but you should be able to loose some capacity if you want, since 5000mah 25c packs can do 125 amps, and you'll be using 2 in parallel...good luck trying to put 250 amps at 4s to the ground

Thank you for that info, I was wondering about that.
When I built my twin motor nitro I was told that each motor needs to be perfectly in sync with each other...... that was absolute BS!! I could run one motor fat and one motor lean, it didn't matter they both temped the same. How ever when they were both tuned perfectly the truck would take off like a rocket :)

Sweet as hell truck plentenbergs!!

even with the dual brushless, one esc is always working harder.... maybe very minute and makes little difference.. but I've had many issues with dual schulze 18.61 and 18.129s... if one thermals, you're gonna have a big uh-oh... but then again, back in the days, I didn't pay much attention to gearing as gears weren't readily available..

Remember that your system is only as good as your batteries. If your batts can put out 2000 watts and you use one 3000 watt motor you will only get 2000 watts of power. Adding another motor only adds weight and more wasted energy. The only time a second motor is beneficial is if any single motor can not match the batteries output. Not that it's not cool as hell, don't get me wrong.

Very True... but the look of dual brushless is just wicked... both of them Plettenbergs should be able to put out 4000 Watts easily.... if the batteries can provide the juice of course....
2x 4S 5000 mAh 25C would be excellent... but the controller is only able to push out 97 Watts... so he's limited to that... I feel so sorry for the drivetrain... them BigMaxx looks so damn beautiful...

5S would be very fast on a bigmaxx (which is good... :) )

you would also need 2 LVC's with these 18.97 controllers to protect your lipo's from deep discharging.

The new 40c kongpower lipos do not look like they will need a lvc.

Ok linc since I have a "Big Maximum" on its way to me now:yes:, do you have a link for those Kongpower batts:wink:? I already have the UE SuperMaxx truck setup for bulletproof operation:whistle:. So now I am trying to put together the bulletproof electronics to move it around:rofl:. I have a Quark 125B coming, and an MGM 16018 or 16024 in mind as well:eyes:. Plus the MMM will be out later this month, and I will have to buy at least two of them for safety sakes:mdr:. So I am sure that one combination or another will do the trick for me. I also have a few lipos laying around to try and some Dewalt cells to put together to. I have two 11.1v 10,000mah batts that I have not used for anything yet. I am nearly ready to knock down a house with this truck, but I have to put together the most reliable power system that will give me the play time that I desire:whistle:. At this point I am merely bashing for fun, but eventually I do hope to get into the racing scene. Maybe once we arrive in Korea I can find a friendly place to run:yes:. I still have so much to learn. Help me "OB1Kinoby" ........

plettenbergs 04.02.2008 07:31 AM

what is lvc...?

does it mount "in line" on the truck?
