Thanks I have got it now, you are going to mount the rear drive cup on the bit that has the bullet shaped thing on it?

brushlessboy16 04.21.2008 10:24 AM

close, im not going to use the bullet thing, From what i hear you can slide the motor shaft so that it sticks out both ends of the motor-so i can put drive cups on both ends

Sweet, I may put one of these in my XB8, I will watch this thread closely.

Cheers

Hmmmm, are you sure the motor will fit? I just took the CD out of my buggy and the distance between the ends of the CVDs is 40mm, going by the specs on the website the motor is 55mm long. Do you plan to cut the shaft?

What drive cups are you using? I found these which look goodhttp://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...RCM8mmdrivecup

brushlessboy16 04.21.2008 02:57 PM

standard drive cups are 8mm, the originals on my raze's front and rear pinions are. I chose HotBodies Cups because they were cheap. I will need to find one shorter Cvd, that will be decided when i mount the motor... it should be here soon.

Ok thanks, do you have any other information about moving the shaft inside the motor? I found a picture of the shaft and there is only notches for e clips or something similar, I don't see how it could be adjusted.

the e-clips are to be removed, the shaft will be held in the motor by the setscrews it has. :D

Sweet, are you just going to dremel a flat in the other end for the drive cup?

brushlessboy16 04.21.2008 04:43 PM

yep that is the plan :D

Takedown 04.21.2008 05:29 PM

brushlessboy16 04.21.2008 05:40 PM

Its being processed as we speak. all of the item s are reserved for me. UGH THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME...

What do u guys think about the motor mount?

rcmonkey 04.22.2008 06:07 PM

1 Attachment(s)
A simple L shaped bracket that mount on the CD holes would be easiest.

brushlessboy16 04.22.2008 06:50 PM

yeah i was thinking something like that. but a little more bracing, to keep it from flexxing. like this
