Man, I love the look of LST shocks. They can make any truck look like a beast.

Well are ya? |
In e-maxx with 1515 1y. Currently have lipo combos for 4s but am looking to get some others so i can do 5s and 6s. Very difficult figuring which brands to get while also being economical.

hyper 8.5 PRO... dunno what motor (need some help here!!) or what batteries (definately a123, or similar, due to high charge rates (only need one set for racing, rather than a 2 + lipo sets) and rebustness...
any suggestions, thinking 5s1p, but will that give me the speed and or current draw and runtime for a 6 minute race, or will i NEED a 2p setup... which id really like to avoid due to the expense and weight esp... 350g total of batteries would be a great improvement on 14 nimh cells (to get the same voltage) (900g+!) i havent brought anything, on a low budget, prolly have 1500 total to play around with... got a Tx and Rx, as well as the rolling chassis.. the mount will be customed, so no need for that... realisically, what should i get... would 6S1p with low gearing (just need it to keep up with the buggies on the straight, so between 35-40mph, with a 6minute runtime... is this EVEN REALISTIC? or 5s or would it even be possible on 4s? i dont have a charger yet, and i only got a 30A power supply, not buying anything bigger just yet (dont have the $$$) im looking at the hyperion range, esp when i could charge and balance a 6s pack at a solid 10A for only 170 bucks. (which would give me approx 15 minute recharge, or less) the only concern (reason id go with 6s) is the current draw. with only 2.3aH, and a 20C rating, that only allows for a 43A constant discharge rate... i dont see any way of this working well without a low amp draw system. just looking for suggestions for voltage, charger, and motor (ill be getting the MM, is waiting for the combo an option, will there be any motors available with the right kv ratings?... 2000kv seems about right) all while keeping within $1500. sorry for the long post, but heres where u guys seem to know heaps, and its active... ryan |

ok. but the problem is, on how to charge/balance them... im not sure wether id be able to charge them with the charger i was looking at.... i need some reasonably (5A+)high powered (240v powered would be extraordinary) charger with balancer to suit 7S a123
the only other option is going with 4S2P, with any more, i think it will be too damn heavy! the equivilant lipos are so much lighter dammit!!!... the advantage being with 6S, i can make 3 2s1p to use in my touring car. i guess i could make 1x 3s and 2x 2s... im clearly in need of help, and cannot afford to buy any more items, once i make my decision (motor OR batteries). how does everyone think the monster combo will compare with the hand made neu's? im thinking, they will only be popular if they are highly effcient or very cheap (like feigaos) any suggestions? |
I reckon theyll be tops. As for a charger, I got a Hyperion duo for exactly that purpose. My 6s2p will be two separate 6s1p packs, each one of them two 3s1p packs in an L shape. Then I can run the 3s packs in my crt.5 and my rustler, and put em all together for a 6s2p. The original plan was a 4s for the crt.5 and a 3s for rusty to make 7s1p.
The hyperion duo has 2x 180W 6s chargers in it, which can run together ('sync' mode)as a 360W 12s charger. Even in solo mode you can choose the power distribution between the chargers which is kind of cool. It has built in LBA10 balancers for each channel, with a full readout of the individual cell voltages during charging. Only thing I don't really like about it is the lack of discharge function. I don't really use any nickel batteries, but being able to discharge is often good to test your batteries balance and capacity. |

You should of just added "punk" at the end, so I kind of did for you. No, I just meant any truck they are put on. Actually, I always thought the stock savage shocks were one of its down points, however, putting those shocks on there totally changed that scenario. You obviously weren't a fan of the stock shocks either, huh? :yipi: |
I'm gonna wait for an HV version.
