How about the 8ight conversion... I know you said the kit will be a few weeks off... but.... are any of the parts ready now?

Will the motors alone be available from RC Monster or only from Tekno Direct?

It's very possible that the individual parts are ready before the whole kit. Maybe 1 week prior, not 100% sure.

We haven't worked out if they will be available to dealers. If they are available though, I'm hoping RC-Monster will be one of the first places that has them.

Will the motors still use Carbon Fibre wound rotors?

jnev 05.05.2008 10:29 PM

Looks really nice!!

Is it possible to use the Tekno chassis, and servo mounts, battery tray and all that (except for the motor mount) and use the RC-Monster mount so I don't have to use the clutch? Also, will the battery tray fit the stock chassis? Will the mud guards fit the stock chassis?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

The motors will feature all of the latest Neu technologies (i.e. new endbell design, reduced cog rotors, etc.). Our motors will incorporate any future changes as well.

Mike will be able to confirm if the RCM mount will work once the kits are available. Just looking at it, it looks like there shouldn't be an issue. You may have to remove the rear brake assembly, but not 100% sure. The kit includes a complete clutch setup so you'll have it to try out either way.

The battery tray was meant to fit our chassis specifically. However, it could be used on other chassis' if you space it up 2mm off the chassis for the straps to clear. As it is now, the chassis is cutout underneath the battery tray to make room for the straps. Our chassis is actually lighter than the stock chassis by .5oz despite it having a bigger overall footprint. The truggy chassis is over 1oz lighter than stock :)

"Oh ratfarts!" (Caddyshack Quote to express frustration) I emailed them a few days ago and was told they were not yet taking any pre-orders...how could they be out of stock if they never opened up orders? I really want one!

entjoles 05.12.2008 08:56 PM

Electric Dave 05.12.2008 09:00 PM

Well, I just called too but got the answering machine. I've sent an email in the hopes that maybe there are more or at least more coming. This motor looks like the promised land of RC...

If you did get one, give us a report when it comes...and when you win your first race with it!
