after using different brands of wire I use only the Deans Wet Noodle a hobby shop I used to go to gave me a sample and I was sold. The silver core wire could be aluminum

here is a link to some technobabble about aluminum wire

Castle is specing 10 ga for a reason. I still hope Mike decides to carry it for "one stop shopping".

my guess would be they are using cheaper wire, makes it difficult to inspect the wire when they tin the ends......

I've been using that Hong Kong 10 AWG for all of my batteries for a while now.. .it seems be doing the job very well... but then again, I have never had a problem with Deans Wet Noodle either...

I just tested a 1 foot piece of both wires... the
Deans Wet Noodle read 3.0 Ohms
HK 10AWG Silicone read 3.3 Ohms

The HK can't be steel, the strands doesn't stick to magnets...
But using 10 Awg is for insurance policy... You all know who I'm talking about, one of they're favourite phrase... "Wires are too thin" or "Wires are too long"

I put both wires under a lighter for 30 seconds... both of the silicone stayed in tact and looked similar except with black carbon build up.

Yeah I never tried that, but when tinning the ends of the hong kong stuff with my 40W iron all the insulation went all soft and bubbly but the wet noodle stuff didnt change appearance at all. Not all steels are magnetic, but its probably aluminium anyway
