crawler max 06.25.2008 03:02 AM

I had words with RC4Wd regarding portal axles and i was told that they would not handle the power of nitro trucks, at least not for long. I am going to try this 14t bell and maybe have a bigger spur gear custom made. maybe 80t or whatever i have room for.

RCALLOYS.com is a good company to go to for custom made spurs.

He was talking to crawler max. He bragged about having an awesome nitro based crawler (such a thing could never exist though), yet there are no vids, pics or any other details to show for it.

Ooooh... OK.. its all good. However, I have tried some rock crawling with my nitro TMaxx. One big problem off the bat "OVERHEATING". I guess fuel constantly loading up like that is not good for nitro motors. If you dont want fuel to load up then you gotta lean it out a lot. Either way you got major overheating problems. Drag brake and clutch response time would be an issue too right?

Yep, the clutch would be a HUGE issue. And you'd have to use mechanical brakes, which in itself isn't so bad, but I would feel for the brake servo...
