Cool. Can't wait to see progress.

stripped down:

rc-monster mount and battery tray installed: I will have to play with tray placement once I get my MMM back and get it balanced.

other side: I used the scrap of CF that I cut off the mount as an esc mount. If\when it breaks I'll figure something else out.

mocked up with my mess of MM wires! this is temporary, it will get an MMM and have the wire run much cleaner:

I took a few test runs tonight and rebuild the CD 4 times. I started with 10k and I have 500k in there now and it still unloads to the front when I get on it hard. hmmmm. I want to get a kyosho plastic spur for it too, it is kinda noisy ;)

wow looks good. im still waiting on my motor mount from mike. for some reason its in kansas city. and its been 12 days and its still in kansas city.

hey i thought the rcm motor mount came with the nice looking servo mount too?

DickyT 11.13.2008 08:09 AM

Thanks :) The rc-m mount did come with a servo mount, I chose to stick with the carbon fiber. I have it in the spares box ;)

The Kyosho spur won't fit on the Mugen diff.

Well, that was quick... are you sure you didn't do any of that at work? lol

DickyT 11.13.2008 12:02 PM

my V3 MMM just showed up! no more mess-o-wire!

TheRandom1 11.13.2008 12:16 PM

Sweet!

RCShocker 11.13.2008 01:18 PM

Looking forward to the build DickyT, as usual.

I'm kinda leaning in that same direction as well.

Have fun !!!!

Will a hb or ofna diff fit in the mugen bulks?

I think but am unsure that the HB diff does. In the interim, what is a good way to lock the diff? pack with saran wrap?

The HB and mugen both use a 8x16 bearing for the CD, I am uncertain on the length or what shimming might be needed.

Jb weld...:intello:

I think silly putty will work, as it appears t be the same consistency as the diff lock putty I have seen...

DickyT 11.13.2008 02:37 PM

If out drive cups never wore out, or were changeable with out taking the diff apart I would have jbwelded it last night.

I have thought about silly putty, but it gets very malleable when warm and I live in south FL. I do not know if it would hold.

I lack the disposable income to make the diffs "throw away" by jb'ing them.

I am going to try wadding it full of saran wrap tonight and binding the gears that way.
