Just got a "Bladerunner II" toy helicopter for $60 from our store because of my discount, this thing's a blast! The guys there were all jealous because no one else has gotten to fly one, but a couple of the airplane guys that were still there when I left took a turn, we all agree it's gotta be the best "toy" we carry!

Basketti 12.02.2005 06:34 AM

My mates got a helicopter, but i havent seen him fly it. they sound good though, but tricky to control if your new to helicopters.

nbcaznmaster 12.02.2005 07:31 AM

gass hellies are scary. If u run outta gas, BAM! it'll drop!

dabid 12.02.2005 04:26 PM

Yeah, well it's almost the same with an electric if your batts start dumping. A guy at work said he saw this guy with a Shogun flying upside down when the pack began to dump, all the guy could say was "Crap! crap! crap!" and the thing got lower and lower to the ground. He ran over, and carefully reached toward the landing gear, grabbed it, and killed the throttle........all was okay. :D

nbcaznmaster 12.02.2005 05:08 PM

well, u can SEE when the batts are running, u can still fly, just not as fast. But! if u run outta gass BAM! engine shuts off and it drops lieka rock! all u can do is watcH!

danhfvcsd 12.02.2005 05:09 PM

so you gonna have some video of this thing man? -lol-

Not competely true. Most helicopters will have an "auto-rotate" feature when power shuts down, so their blades will still spin to reduced the impact of hitting the ground. Even my ~13 year old nitro heli has this :).

nbcaznmaster 12.02.2005 05:32 PM

lol, okay nvm! i take ti back! maybe rc helicopters arent complete morons!

danhfvcsd 12.02.2005 05:40 PM

heli's are so mega complex - it'd be such an insult to call em morons -lol-
the auto rotation works like this....

The main rotor blade's 'pitch' is adjustable in CP heli's - this makes the chopper go up and down when input is switched either way....
If your engine cuts in the air with a nitro heli - you give input to bring the heli toward the ground - gaining rotational speed in the main blades - as you get close to the ground - you give opposite collective input - as if to make the chopper fly up - this gives just enough power to make a smooth landing ;)

I've seen a video where a guy cut the engine wayyyy up in the air, came down UPSIDE DOWN - and got about 4ft from the ground - flipped the heli back upright - then landed so softly, it was incredible!
