did you make the motor mount yourself, or is it from hm-modellbau (onefive.de)?

E-VO-Maxx 11.22.2008 02:08 PM

You're right, the motor mount is from hm-modellbau (onefive.de).
Michael, the owner did a hell of a job to support me in realizing this Monster-project.

Very nice truck you have. I bookmarked that site in case I ever win the lottery.

Do you have graphs of the runs to see how many AMPs you're pulling? I just want to get an idea if my 10S ESC will be enough or if I have to get something more powerful done.

E-VO-Maxx 11.22.2008 02:27 PM

No, not yet. I have to gat a suitable logger first. But a similar setup in an 1/5 pulled approx. 180 amps.

medusa's oracle data recorder is rated for 200amps: http://www.medusaproducts.com/oracle/index.htm

Thanks for the link - looks promising.

The maximum temps so far have been 140° F at the ESC and 120° F at the engine at 50° F outside temp .

It is a 4WD monster out of the box. I haven't checked your rules regarding links yet but if it's not a problem I would post the link to the construction manual here.

no rules about links, and Linc (a member here) goes by no rules, so Link away!

E-VO-Maxx 11.22.2008 04:00 PM

Good to know (it's different here).

I hope different means good! Thank you for sharing. I'm now thinking about selling it all and going 1/6 scale. Very impressive.

E-VO-Maxx 11.22.2008 04:49 PM

Well, actually I thought worse but I meant Germany when I wrote "here" - lol

sikeston34m 11.22.2008 06:38 PM

What KV rating does that motor have?

Also, What shaft size?

I'm just wondering how hard it is to find pinion gears for something like that.

Excellant Pics and info. This may be my next obsession. LOL

E-VO-Maxx 11.22.2008 07:09 PM

The KV rating in the current setup is 875, the shaft size is 10mm.
10mm is the regular shaft size of the 1/5-6 gas-models so pinion gears are no problem.
