what do you mean by too industrial?...was it too heavy?

Azjc I was impressed with it, no doubt, but this was a very unusual occasion for me to decide to return it. The weight was not so much an issue as the physical size. Other things that made it not work for me were.. 1. the 120V input and the 13.8 output are on the same end, and it has a short (2 foot) cord, would have made it difficult to arrange with the charger the way I want. 2. no bullet connectors, has large screw lug-type conns with SQUARE HEAD drive setscrew for some wacky reason, the Duo has bullets for input, and I don't really want to cut them off. 3. no power switch- again not a huge problem, but all these little issues combined made me change my mind.

Let me say I was impressed with the build quality and it looks like a very robust PS, but the galvanized case was large and the mount 'feet' are useless to me, this looks like something you'd have a dedicated, permanent use/ mount for, so I decided for a little more than 1/3 what I paid for it, I'd try the HobbyLobby 30 amp and my only concern with that one is it may only have a 12V or slightly higher output, but we'll see.....

Oh, and I originally spotted the PowerForce 30 amp on MaxAmps when I was buying my balance tap adapters- they wanted $109 for it- a full $30 more than I found it at HobbyLobby. highway robbery, didn't feel to good about buying even the balance adapters from MA.... anyway HobbyLobby has a 40 amp version for $100 if anyone is interested. www.hobby-lobby.com/powersupply.htm

when I was looking for a PS the size and connectors were a issue for me, it was plug and play for my 0610i and Ofna PS

How would this go? It's a Manson, and only AUD$239 (which is what - USD$170-odd) but it's 40amp and adjustable voltage up to 15v...

Hope it'll work well, cause i have ordered it - i plan to use it to sync-charge 2x 6S 6000mah lipos (@ 1C) on the DUOII that i have on the way... I couldn't figure out the calculations brianG put up, so just went overkill as best as i could - i've come to the conclusion that maths and numbers are never gonna be my forte -lol-

*edit - there is nothing that mentions the watt rating of this p/s tho... is there a way to figure that out, or does it just depend on how it has been made? The manual recommends a BK Elctronics 15v/40A/600W p/s (#1692) but it appears to look exactly the same.... likely not to be looking at the price, but could it actually be the same thing? Maybe just with a lesser W rating (considering it isnt mentioned on the "Manson" site...)

IMO its overkill for what you need, you can spend $100 @ Hobbylobby and get a 40 amp PS and you will probubly never come close to really needing that much power

My only gripe with that, is that being in Australia, in need it to be 240V input with a 3 pin plug for the wall...
The 240V requirement is what pushes the price up (from what i had found while searching for a p/s) unfortunately...

I would also like to have comfort in the fact i will have the ability to charge large packs at higher rates also in the future if i ever need, hence the main reason for looking at 40amp supplies =)

Buy a little step-down transformer. They're cheap.

They do sell large project enclosures....you could have mounted it inside a project box and installed your own connectors, switch, longer cords etc. Then you coulda mounted the Duo on top...woulda made a cool charging station.

Normally I'd do any mods necessary to make things work, in this case I decided the RDC45 was just too much, and I decided to spend the $ I saved on a FlyCam- was hoping that and the PS would show up yesterday, looks like it'll be Monday.

I'll have a clean setup with the charger/PS..... eventually lol

unfortunately yes... it's left the shop yesterday =) The bloke answered my email at 8-9pm on a Friday night (i had sent the email some time around 6-7pm that same night), and he posted it Saturday! Very quick, great service, and at a cheap price! Everyone else i had seen selling them were up around the AUD$350-400 mark for the exact same thing... Spose i cant complain - it's more than capable, but thanks for the heads up George =)
