The D8 mount will appear on the site today(so Josh should be good to go by the 15th). :)

Update: Just order a motor mount, battery tray, pinion gear, front motor cover, and rear motor cover from Mike. I have a little change of plans though for the buggy. I decided that I will run a 1512/3d (1700KV) on 5s with motor brakes. Someone just bought my 4s pack, so as soon as someone buys my Neu 1515/1y, I'll be able to order the motor and 5s pack. Wish me luck!

Hope it all works out. Good luck on the sale!

Just couple D8 tips - watch your front droop as if you have too much CVDs will be too short. Rear droop is ok.

Screws (with lock nut) that hold turnbuckles to the ackerman can get stuck under the front plastic brace after harder hit. I ended up using socket head screw put in the other way around with lock nut under the ball end. no problems since then.

couple is 2 so thats it :)

Thanks for the tips. I'll look into those. All I am waiting for now is a battery tray, motor, and battery.

Got some parts from Mike the other day. Ordered the wrong battery tray, so another one is coming. Here is what has been done so far.

Looks nice Josh...Getting at the motor screws will be a bit tough though w/out removing the center diff. assembly. I am trying to guilt one of my co-workers into buying one of these....for the $ you can't go wrong!

Finally finished! Set is Mamba Monster ESC, Neu 1512/3d motor, and a Neu 5s 4300mah lipo pack.

Nice rig! I have been drooling over the D8's since they came out. Has to be the best buggy for your buck on the market right now.

MetalMan 02.16.2009 02:36 AM

There it is

Just a tip for whoever...

It's probably much quicker to access the screws by uscrewing the radio/servo tray and flipping it out of the way than removing the center diff. At least that's the case with the Losi 8ight.

Super slick build. Makes me want one :)

Finally painted the body. Now I really want to just look at it. Its too clean and shiny to run. I have only tested it in my garage. Haven't gotten a chance to go anywhere to run it yet...

That's clever...mounting the esc inside the battery tray. I would think that Mike could even cnc a tray that has two compartments...one for the battery and one for the esc. You might be on to something!

True... I still prefer to mount the esc up higher, especially the mmm because of the fan...the though being a little harder for dirt to get into the fan
