Made a little progress. Made the top support, both side fillers and the center and rear skids.
Pics show it mocked up with the moab tires. Need another pair of 23mm hexes and I can put the front wheels on. Still need to rebuild the front diff and swap the lst1 arms and hubs for lst2 parts. Also need to pick up another pair of aftershock shocks (running 4 of those in the rear to lose a little weight). Thinking I may put the motor in front of the tranny, and the battery behind it. Still need to make the new center chassis plate, and the single servo will interfere with battery mounting in the front. I also need to dye the green plastic side fillers/braces black, they look kinda funky in green (material was free, so I could not complain!). And i need to fab up a motor mount... Still plenty to do with this project... http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/b...p/DSCF3239.jpg http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/b...p/DSCF3240.jpg |

I would recommend a bandsaw to anyone, I usually use it to cut plastic, but it will cut 1/8 al like butter. Better models are available, but it was a gift, and I have easily got my money out of it!!! Spend some money on some tools Chris, you will not regret it! |
Looks good..look forward to seeing it done
