Good, howd the assembly go?

crazyjr 12.24.2005 12:27 AM

It went well. you really need to follow the directions to the letter. One thing though. Put the drive cups on first before you start to assemble and it helps if you have past experience with a revo, but if you follow the directions to the letter you will be ok. One problem though, the G3 battery straps are too wide for the slits in the chassis if you have a grinding bit small enough you could make it wide enough. Not a major problem, but you need to know.

Good, i will have to follow the instructions, ill install the drive cups first, as for the slits, i dont need to use them cause im gonna run 16 cells:)

crazyjr 12.24.2005 12:39 PM

the servo arm may hit with 8 cells on that side it will be close

Sylvester 12.24.2005 12:43 PM

I just got it, but it didnt come with those stand offs, the big ones and small :(

crazyjr 12.24.2005 08:13 PM

I took my G2R to my LHS today to show off and try on their track (small but a track none the less) it handled excellent it has great rotation in the turns, but it is a little nose heavy. I'm running the stock revo setup so i need to work on it, but first impressions are that the Emaxx definately has competition in electric racing.

So far the reverse wiring of the motors has had no ill effects, I swaped the 64 tooth spur gear to a 70 tooth, because the G2R revo is a little heavier than the Emaxx that i ran before. Now it has better punch and no loss in speed now i need to step up to 14 cells and see what happens.

Heres a pic of mine, the rear end isnt put together cause i didnt get a needed set of washers, im covered by mike though:)

Sylvester 12.25.2005 11:01 AM

^Theres a little custom work needed, not made for first time builders;)^

crazyjr 12.25.2005 12:11 PM

yeah but not difficult, but it helps th have disassembled a revo before. I talked to Mike about the straps being too big for the slits and he assured me that they will fit, but are tight

crazyjr 01.02.2006 01:54 PM

I ran my G2R at the track yesterday after i moved the esc and turned the transmission around(spur to front), while its still front heavy it is better. Since i can't move anything else, i need a good starting setup to prevent the nose heavy attitude. I need some advise on a good setup from those with experience with E-Revo. any advise is apriciated

Sylvester 01.02.2006 01:58 PM

Well, your running 12 cells right? If your running the packs to the forward position , put it to the rear position, if you already have your batts placed more to the rear, than i dont know what to say, maybe make a little weight out of somthing to even it out, or try losing some weight with pillow balls, and turnbuckles in front so its a bit lighter up there.
