This is what happens when a SportMaxx seperates at about 50mph. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xZa4...e=channel_page |
Nice, but isn't easier to just walk up to the mail box and open it.But honestly Chevrons.I ran them once when I first got my Emaxx, then took them off.Maybe I need to try them again. At the time I was doing lower speed, and they'll be going on my E-revo this time.

I love the Chevrons too. I'm not pushing top speed runs like you are, but they are the best gripping tire I've tried so far. I do love my phaltlines for top speed runs though. You need to reglue them BEFORE you blow them off the rims. Those guys know how to make tires, too bad they don't know how to glue them. LOL |
My phalts came apart at the edges and one of them came apart in the center. The foams were sticking through the tires at the end of the run.
|
phaltlines get the thumbs down, my axial terrarizers are so much better, those pahltlines dont even stick that well onroad. Sure look cool in pictures though
|
Well I've got them no reason not to give them a go.I really generally only run 40-45.But my buddies both have MMM combo's and they like to get silly and run around 50,and I'm just not so good at letting them whip me.So inevitably I throw 6s in there without regearing, and inevitably I'm reglueing or replacing a tire.Life was just so much easier when I was stuck with 45 and 4s.
|
I was able to hit 54 with my truggy on bowties.... Not stable at all though.
|
Whatever tire you choose, do yourself (and the tire) a favor and tape the tires and balance the wheel/tire combos.
Some ducktape works fine, one wrap with about 1 inch overlap is fine. I use a prop balancer and 2 part epoxy putty to balnce my wheels. The erevo with a 1515 1.5d and 19/50 gearing does about 45 mph and is just floats at that speed. Before the balancing the tires where throwing the truck around at 40... |
I balance the tires by removing some of the plastic inside the wheels with a dremel. I would much rather remove unsprung weight than add it.

no joke that the chevroms are tough. Been running them for a while, but my LPR crime fighters are AWESOME:intello:

Not at all. Those wheels are fine even cracked down the middle.
