I want it to be a easy install and bolt right up. I am going to get the 1/8th shaft and just run stock gears for it. Thanks all

Hmmm, I have been looking and was wondering if the 4800 Medusa would better suit me than the 3300kv. What do you guys think?

36-50-3300 Vs. 36-50-4800

What one would better suit me? Using the MM esc and 2s and 3s packs. Would like to achieve 50mph once in a while for some speed runs. Wheelies would be cool too. This would just be for a bash truck not a racer. Thanks

I would opt for the 3300. Would be great on 3s and allow gearing up for speed runs, and running on 2s should give decent speed and runtime. However, you might want to check how much motor adjustment you have to see if you have the gearing options you want.

I suggested the 3300 because it is very close to the vxl at 3500kv. The Medusa will be a touch slower but run way cooler no matter what gearing you run. I know 76/25 will fit as I ran that on my vxl rusty. There is plenty of adjustment available with the stock tranny

Awesome. I will be pulling the trigger on this motor and also a MMM for the ESC in the next two weeks. For the couple dollars more I am going to opt for the MMM over the MM.

He will be able to gear the Medusa a lot higher than the VXL, so speed won't be an issue and the Medusa has a lot more torque to get up to speed.

Well I just ordered the Medusa 36-50-3300 1/8th shaft from Mike. Hopefully he will soon have the end covers available for it so I don't have to worry about dirt and stuff getting in it.

Mikes cover's are really nice, but if you are in a hurry you can use heat reflective aluminum tape over the holes. That's what I have on both of my Medusa's and it shows very little wear after months of use.
