A 1.5Y 1512 sized motor would be 1900 kv just like the tekin T8 4030 1.5Y, so I can't see why that can't be done. That would be perfect on 6s bashing, and 4s/5s racing, better than a 1y on 4s and 3s. I already consistantly get the mmm fan on in less than 5 minutes with my driving. I'm guessing there is some sort of delay anyway since I haven't even heard of any updates of the 1800 and 1500 kv long can motors for quite some time. I would expect a low kv short can motor to be a ways off.

That's exactly right -- the magnets are optimized for a Y wind. That's why we don't offer a D wind.

Patrick

Thanx!

Will the 1518-sized motor be available then as well?

I don't have exact dates on the longer motors -- they require new magnets which have a fairly long lead-time.

But I would assume late July time frame is fairly accurate.

OK, Thanks. I'm looking to get one of those to replace the motor in my Muggy.

:party::yipi::yipi::yipi::yipi::party:

finally, a Castle motor I can use to replace my 1512 1.5y

btw, Neu downgraded their rating on this motor from 1900 to 1850 a while back. I wonder how much different the CC motor will be?

Patrick, is it possible the 1800kv is under rated?

Haha, thats what I want to here! Sorry tekin!!!

If you could also do 4mm mounting holes right next to the 3mm ones, that would be great as well.

The Castle 1512/1.5Y is 1850Kv -- I just double checked.

Hmmm -- that's not a bad idea. I'll check into it.

Very nice, thanks Mr C!

3/4mm holes would be a smart move too...

lincpimp 06.02.2009 10:52 AM

I would also like to see 4mm mount holes, both in 25mm circle and 30mm circle. With the CC/Neu motors it would be as simple as offering different front plates that can be swapped out by the end user. I personally think that M3 thread bolts are a bit small to hold up the large brushless motors.

4mm would be awesome for sure. Especially on the 1515 and up series motors.

Patrick, what kind of pricing is expected on the 1518 series versus the 1515 series?

badassrevo 06.04.2009 12:54 PM

4mm is whay Losi uses for their motor mounts, it would be a good idea.

+1 on 4mm holes. +N on lower KV options for I have only 6S packs for both my buggy and Truggy.

Not much price increase over the 1515-- I don't know for sure yet, but I'd guess the 1518 will be about $15.00 more than the 1515.
