Could you measure the body for me? Just need a wheelbase, from the center of the front wheelwell to the center of the rear, and a width across at the widest point...

Thanks!

From front wheelwell to rear in the center of both it is 17 and 3/4 inches. The widest point on the body is 11 and 3/4 inches.

Im debating on if I should pick up one of the fsracing 1/5 chassis and another fsracing body to make a custom 1/5 out of my warhead evo front and rear assembly's. I measured up and demo'd it by putting my fsracing body over the front and rear warhead evo assembly's and it looked great. Ill have to think about this one...

Nah, make your own chassis!!! The warhead uses a tvp setup, right?

I would if I knew how. The fsracing 1/5 chassis is so nice looking. 6061 aluminum with a sweet painted carbon fiber overcoat on it. The warhead evo does infact use tvps. I plan to use a flat chassis like the fsracing ones and then install four 90 degree braces that hook from the chassis to both the front and rear assembly's for added strength. Kinda like what buggy's and truggy's use to help keep the chassis from bending.

Ha we shall see. I have a very limited income so we'll see. Im still debating on if I should stick some upgrades in my saab 900s or if I should use that money to buy an fsracing body, chassis center diff and center axles.

i dont see the bodies holding up that well on these..... on the baja's they have rollcages and stuff to give support under the bodies in a roll or flip..... there is nothing under these and they stick out very far.... and those big bodies are too damn expensive to be trashing with a truck like that, it really needs some sort of roll cage under the body to provide the support.

Takedown 03.13.2009 03:38 PM

Most 1/5's dont traction roll. If its built well it will not traction roll. Plus most people do not jump them very high and most 1/5's arent very fast so body's tend to last awhile.

I know someone who is making a roll cage to support the savage 5T body and outriggers too just like a stock baja 5t and plans of the truck running around 50 mph. I do think the big trucks will still roll without a problem, not sure why they wouldn't.

I have a feeling that "somebody" with a savage 5t will be running it past 50mph, and will jump it too... That somebody will need a new body frequently...

The baja 5t and savage 5t are an exception...
