Probably connect x2 controllers to the motor?!! x2 160.40:L:
|
You probably need close to 10,000 watts to get an emaxx to 100 mph. I'm not joking. At 100 mph, there will be 25-30 times the wind resistance, vs. the wind resistance at 30 mph. You'll need to add extra weight to the truck just to keep it on the ground.
|
So the 3080 is the way to go, I guess.

would a super custom aerodynamic body shell work? I mean - bring the shell down over the wheels and just about to the floor kinda thing.....
Just to help in the aero dept for a bit more gain do you think? or would it be too much effort and not enough gain out of the idea? ya know - just while we're on the convo of fast trucks and all...and i know that with the TC's they use 'special' bodies for high speed runs right? :) and seriously - what controller would actually run that 30xx series??? sounds like military shit to me -lol- |
It depends on the 30 series motor you get. If you get the ones with the lower kv you need more cells. If you get a 30 series and put 40 cells on it. You sure enough going to need some tough drive train.
|
Is this correct?? -lol-
Engine weight (3060) 1.2 kg (of 3080) 1.6 kg And 1KW = 1000 watts - is this also correct? -lol- Engine performance (3060) up to 8 KW (3080) to 11 KW OMG!! That'd have to be 4th, 5th scale applications right?? And bk don't even sell a controller that will handle 40+ cells do they? -lol- |
Bk has a 5th scale controller out. It is huge. It has like 6 circuit boards in it. I try to find a pic. And yes that is right on the power and weight. My 2250 is 560 grams with up to 3000watts of power. But the torque of the motor is unreal. It makes the 7xl look like a titan. I have not got a good run on 16 cells yet either. I really need to. I will see how tough the ue stuff is. :D
|
ahhh - guess i was looking in the wrong place and using the wrong search words -lol- I could only see up to 36 cell controller on their site :) It'd be great if you could get a pic - i'd like to see just how big it is!
That's what i was thinking tho..... i knew the 22 series put out around the 3kw or whatnot mark....but the 30 series is like, 3 and 4 times that power...is this right??? - i couldn't imagine it!!! -lol- And the weight makes it sound so much bigger too!!! that's more than my whole drift car RTR for both 30series motors EACH!! It is not as big as i remembered. Here is a pic though.
Well the rotor in a 3080 is about the size of a 540 xl motor. So it should have something. ;) |
depending on the scale of car it's sitting in - it still looks damn big! -lol- thanks for the pic mate :)
*edit* -lmfao@meandmylogic- spose it has to be a 5th scale vehicle, considering you said it was a 5th scale controller! -lol- |
that is one huge controller
