I have plans for a 6th scale or so buggy based on lst suspension. Even have some nice big al channel to make a chassis out of. Would like to do 4wd, and I have a 1717 coming for this build.

Back on this, 4.5+ years later!!!

Currently cleaning and sifting thru my stash of revo parts.

Since this is going on road and will not need a lot of suspension travel which rocker should I use?

I have decided to use a nitro revo trans, as I have one that is already locked in 2nd gear. And it will bolt right in.

I have ordered 2 heavy duty revo diff cups so I can assemble a pair of 3.3/brushless spec diffs. Given the tire size and use I did not think I really needed to go with a heavier duty diff. The loads from an on road vehicle with smaller tires, etc will be a lot less than a monster truck.

Still undecided on the power system. Need to run some numbers on the various motors that I have. I do have a MMM and a sidewinder 8th esc so 5-6s lipo for power.

Had a look and I happen to have a Feigao 14xl motor, 1191 kv. Also have a rcm heatsink/clamp...

Here is the speedcalc:

Differential Ratio: 2.8461538461538462
Transmission Ratio: 2.2941176470588233
Other Ratio: 1
Spur Tooth Count: 36
Pinion Tooth Count: 22
Total Voltage: 22.20
Motor KV: 1191
Tire Diameter (inches): 5.5
Tire Ballooning (inches): 0
Motor Current Draw: 0
Motor Coil Resistance: 0
Spur/Pinion Ratio: 1.64 : 1
Total Ratio: 10.68449 : 1
Tire Circumference (inches): 17.28 inches (438.88 mm)
Rollout: 1.62:1
Total Motor Speed: 26440.2 RPM
Vehicle Speed: 40.49 mph (65.04 km/h)

Load on the motor might be too much? Motor rpm under 30k, and the primary gearing is high at 1.64:1. Dunno, guess I will give it a try. Total weight should not be too bad considering the size.

Nice! Keep going I really like to see this project finished:yes:

I´ve had a bunch of feigao´s... They always seem to run hot . I vote like you, give it a try and see if it goes lava:diablo:

Thanks, I would like to see it done too!!!

I may put the feigao in my slayer pro build and pickup a complete sidewinder 8th system for this project.

I have the rear mostly built, need to clean the front parts and assemble that.

I was looking at the rear center driveshaft length. Looking like I need to make a carrier bearing and then use a pair of revo wheel driveshafts to transfer power to the rear diff.
