1000 V1s and 1200 V2s were shipped. But we will honor warranty on those units with no expiration date.

Hopefully word gets out and people will stop bitching about "failure rates"

I know BrianG and others have said this many times and I think common sense should prevail in this as well.

Commonly people come to forums like these when they have a problem and nothing more. I would guess 90% or more come because of a problem and this would reflect across all types of support forums. Most people come to seek help, get an answer, then leave. Nothing wrong with that at all I will say. But just looking at this one would deduct simply that most of the subject matter on the forums will be complaints and not praise. This can also be found in the news media as well. You cannot look at the number of complaints on internet forums as a key indicator of true failure rates because the information is already skewed from the beginning.

I would venture that most people have a problem then do a google search for help and this or another similar forum comes up and they go there and complain. It's not a stretch to understand that most people looking for answers these days seek the internet first and foremost for help.

I for one would just like to know where my unit is I sent it in on April 20th and received confirmation that it arrived on the 23. I have not heard or seen any thing on it!! I'm starting to get a little pissed.

Your complaining about their communication, yet you havent check your own e-mail in three weeks?

I have a Blackberry, I check my email constantly. My point is that the date on the invoice is 5/22 and I'm just now getting it!!!

For what it's worth, I had a V1 that failed back in 12/08 and was immediately replaced no questions asked. Since then I've purchased 5 more V3's with no problems. All my friends who have V3's (all 11 of them) have zero issues also).
Keep up the Great work Castle ! ! !

My V2 is still working flawlessly! I did need to replace the fan and switch however.

Two V2s killed themselves in my truggy, they were replaced with no question asked, I live in China, all I had to pay is one way international express, awesome and promising service.

All sounds good then, I must admit never had a CC ESC blow on me "yet" lol. I have had two CM36 5700 motors let go (one snapped a shaft, the other just died no reason)

But my Flux is kickin without issues so far so yeah good stuff.

A buddy of mine blew his up !
The doopy tool soldered his Deans plug on backwards and plugged my lent 4s pack in it. POOF !
Totally destroyed the ESC and my pack was done instantly as well, Castle came through again and replaced for his ESC for $70.00 !

suicideneil 06.19.2009 01:13 PM

Cool, nice to know I have such a rare esc

Dagger Thrasher 06.19.2009 03:49 PM

Lol, same here. My V1's still going strong after a good 40 runs on 5S, using the internal BEC and with the original fan and switch (despite the switch being pretty exposed to mud and dirt, and the fan having been regularly filled with grass). All that's been done is the 1.20 firmware update, which seems to have fixed the BEC issues as promised. I couldn't be happier. :)

My first MMM simply stopped working after a few hours of use, it died after a lot of hard braking in a ~16 pound Muggy with the brakes at the default 50%. I set my new one to 30% (still really powerful) and it's got around 20 hours on it without a hitch, but every RC I own is broken in some way so I can't punish it more.

I had my first MM die after being run in the snow, drug through the snow when my velcro came loose, completely submerged when my old radio glitched out, and running through tons of puddles. Running it on 12 cells popped a FET and they replaced it for free, all the water abuse didn't even bother it. My next MM would work with my CC 5700 motor but nothing else, but it was the replacement from the first one that went out so I had to pay $45 to fix it. The 3rd MM I've had go bad was one that was given to me after a firmware upgrade bricked it, and they replaced it for free.

Every failure I've had other than the firmware problem could be linked to my abuse of the ESC and they could have made me pay for the repairs but I only had to fix 1 which was well out of it's warranty period. Since then I've bought 3 more MMs and they all still work (2 are for sale ) I'm building an offroad Hyper 7 and may need to replace the MGM in my onroad Hyper and the MMM is at the top of my list for them both. It's a solid ESC backed up by a solid company that will bend over backwards to help you, failures happen with every company but how you're taken care of after it goes out means everything. I just had a HobbyWing/EZ Run/Turnigy ESC shoot sparks on me and I'm SOL as far as repairs because I bought it in November  When a CC ESC fails I don't really mind because I know I'm covered (even if I have to pay for repairs, it's much cheaper than a new ESC), but with other ESCs you just have to swallow the loss and get a new ESC.
