No man, show me your review, i'd love to check it out. What brand were they?
I know! Fast charging is awesome, as that is one of the reasons why I went with A123's to start with up until now. I am LOVING these lipo's, the punch... insane power, I never knew the my little 1512 could push around a Revo with such authority, and vulgarity! They don't even get any warmer than ambient temp it seems (to touch). I just can't wait until I can charge them up to 100% at 4.2v/cell, as I am doing 4.133v/cell right now, non-balanced. Just to be safe. BTW, it seems like these things have a break in period, I am 100% certain these things are getting more powerful everytime I run them... and I did hear something about break in for first ~20 cycles on RCGroups, and helifreak. Some good graphs there: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...04&postcount=1 The Quark 125B is having trouble with these packs though, for teh first 5 minutes, if I brake at speed, the Quark shuts down! :gasp: No brakes! Some kind of over voltage, and glitching is kinda bad too off the charger, and sometimes it doesn't want to even move it's a$$, gotta replug it.. I'll have some updates on Monday with some FULL DOD runs, eagletrees and such. I can also get temps now with the eagletree... I put the temp probe inside the 1512, held in with Mike's Neu end cover. cheers |
Well not reviews per se, but most of what I've written about them is in this thread-
www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18895 And yes even my packs became stronger for the first 15 runs, and the first run was far and above what my old FP Evo25 4900s could muster, and the Hyperions are so understressed they barely get warm, which is why I feel confident giving them a +10C rating over their own numbers. They just DUMP like a capacitor! If you are seeing higher temps than you ever have, that's more evidence that your components are REALLY being fed now! |
WOW, your maxx is a beast! That is some beautiful craft work on it.
I have to overhaul my Revo to make it race ready for this weekend... -modify Quark 125 to handle heat, and the extra voltage (add a cap bank), with a no spark mod. -rearrange the battery mounting -figure out some kind of motor cooling, as the 1512 gets kinda hot for my liking, but i'm sure it's just me. |
Thanks man... it really came alive with BL and lipo, my one do-everything RC. planning a more refined version over the winter
and want to eliminate the trans possibly. |
outrunner?
or quad outrunner? one for each wheel? |
I just received a G3 6s35c2600mah pack which I put in my slash with a mmm and a medusa 60mm 1300kv. Geared for 40mph (12/40 mod1), recorded speed whith the eagletree gps was 50mph.
Max recorded amps were 40 (15c) and voltage didn't drop below 3.7v/cell. |
Nice man! My experience so far tells me that it takes a little over 20C rates for the voltage to hit 3.7v/cell. And now I received my Hyperion charger in mail yesterday, so I will be testing them out today with a 100% charge. (I have only charged them to roughly 94%, non-balanced, to 4.1v/cell.

These G3 packs really caught my eye!

If anyone is wondering where they are made...
I will be back with some Eagletree results later. |
Okay now, I have having trouble getting the data off the eLogger? I just installed the latest firmware and control panel, I can't seem to get it to work!?
Any ideas? |
These things are insane... I was geared for 50mph with the 1512 Neu and after sucking a little over 3700mah out of them, they are stone cold, at least to touch! Even on loose gravel, they will lift the truck up at speeds of around 40+mph! I am actually afraid I am going to blow something in the drivetrain soon, it's just so snappy and vicious now!
One thing to note is that the truck doesn't seem to be pulling very many mah capacity from the pack, in normal driving style, as it must be making use of the extra voltage available to the system, hence, drawing less current from the pack. |
ZP, man.. you really love them packs hey.. I almost feel like selling all of my PolyQuest to get the new HP G3VX packs... I'm really thinking of doing this..
|
Honestly I do!
But for good reasons! I have never seen such high voltage holding under load (over 20C @ 3.7v/cell), they are matched so well (I was charging them for over a week, twice a day with no balancing, and in perfect balance).... and of course the price! Compare them to other top brands, these are significantly less; $200 for 6s 4200/35C pack...OR... $200 for 6s 5000/25C pack (apparently under rated), both G3 packs. They are also rated for 4x cycle life, but we will have to see the test of time for that claim. The performance actually shows in real world, being these are noticeably more punchier than my other 6s 4350/25C Enerland packs. At the track on the weekend, I was doing wheelies in the straights with the G3's, where as that just wouldn't happen with the Enerlands. If a guy doesn't want to get the cheaper Zippy, or Turnigy lipo packs, GET THESE! |
man, i think you just did enough persauding to get me trying one of these packs now!! haha
so where can i get the 6s 5k mah for $200..link please? what type balancer plugs these hyperion use? i have a hyperion 0606i with a xh plug (zippys) and eh plug (neu energy) and the plug that came with the charger. will these work...im thinking the one that came with the charger since its a hyperion charger. ALSO, what if the 25c dont perform as well as the 35c??? the ones your raving about are the 4200 35c's right? anyone purchase the 5000 25c's? |
hyperions use Hyperion/Polyquest balance tap ;)
for 6S 25C will do ok |
