I'm woundering, Is the suspension in the Mini E-Revo set up really soft or can it drop/jump kinda high without bottoming out to bad ?

kulangflow 06.18.2009 08:41 PM

My E-Revo VXL should arrive tomorrow. I'll be sure to take several comparison shots between the CRT.5, E-Revo VXL, Vendetta ST, and RC18B to give everyone a better idea of where the E-Revo VXL fits in.

I'll take video and do some EagleTree graphs as well.

the mini revo's esc is rated up to only 3s right? there's a youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sA3CL00dPT4 saying it does 59mph on 4s!!?!?! I think they confused the fact that since they put in 2 x 2s lipos they thought they were running 4s (if they were using a parallel connector) but i believe its a series connector...IDK....and if you run 4s on the mini ESC won't it fry?

The owner of that video posts some over on the traxxas forums and said if you switch the ESC LVC off, it will run on 4S lipo.

I got mine and posted a Video before, Well today I did some work on it and discovered a bunch of interesting things. First off the Waterproofing of the VXL is basically just plastic dipped, Secondly a Medusa motor (36-50) could fit with very little modification, It will take a bit of dremeling to the Rear shock holder. Also here is some pictures of size comparisions.

hmmm what size wheels are those 2 inch, 2.2 inch? are they 12mm hex or pin drive? and whats the heigt and width of the stock tires....?

Wild YFZ 450 06.18.2009 11:57 PM

I would say 2.0's, 12mm Hex, and about 3inches tall and 1 3/4 inches wide

Snipin_Willy 06.18.2009 11:59 PM

I think Traxxas has always used some sort of hex with all their recent models, but I could be wrong.
I'd love to get one, but I have a CRT.5 to put Lipos in and a buggy project I'm about to start. If it were a little bigger maybe the local guys will let me race my CRT.5 with them.

im thinking b44 rear wheels all around with buggy 2.2 rears for an LPR truggy like setup, opens it up to a TON of tire options like goosebumps, stepins, studs, bowties, holeshots, w/e you like and they are LIGHT there is no telling what those little trucks could do with good tires on them...

This guy already did it:

J Concepts 2.2" Buggy Rears Goosebumps Green
Kyosho Buggy Rears W5028W

heck yea that looks soooo much better, for the record if the kyosho rears work then so will the b44 or b4 rears....

Not necessarily. The size of the pin in the axle may make a difference with the B4 wheels. The Kyosho wheels bolt right on easier since they're 12mm hex.

rootar 06.19.2009 10:05 AM

what do you mean sean? they use a 12mm hex the pin length of size that holds the hex on doesnt matter, if you mean the axle size the b44 or b4 use a 3/16th (4.83mm) axle while the kyosho use a 5mm. either will work as the wheels center hole only sits on the threaded part which is slighty smaller diameter than the shank of the axle where the hex sits....

if you notice any difference between the two it woud be that the b4/b44 wheels would fit slighty tighter.

hope that made sense, (because ive used lazer wheels on a b44 and vice versa)

Wait so the mini e-revo uses a 36mm motor!? My god I might have to get one now.... Run a 4s 2200 mah system with a Medusa and mamba max. Hell Yeah.

Has anyone tried fitting a 2200 cell in there yet?

No, I found it's a 380 motor so a 28mm medusa would have to do.

Given the spec of the battery tray an airthunder 2200 30c 2s pack should fit in each tray.
