sounded to me that they are just shutting down their RC division.

Look no further then this very page!
They should really remove the existing employment opprotunity though: http://www.medusaproducts.com/employment/index.htm

Medusa was also catching on in the FE Boats sector as well. I know a couple guys were running and testing the 36-70 and 36-80 motors.

I wonder if the bad economy did them in. Maybe sales were slowing and the repairs kept coming and they just couldnt make a profit. 2 year warranty was pretty nice, but given what we put RC stuff thru, it might have been too long.

Thanks for the heads up Brian. I might just send them my resume. No one else wants it.

Eh, just because they don't produce them anymore won't mean Mike will not sell what he has left in stock

hemiblas 07.30.2009 08:43 PM

But anything you buy will not have a warranty is what it sounds like. Unless there are some killer deals on these things, you might just want to stick with any of the other manufacturers.

suicideneil 07.30.2009 08:45 PM

Thats exactly right.

If the motor blows up at some point in the future, you have yourself a nice paper weight.

himalaya 07.31.2009 03:53 AM

I made a thread trying to let the Medusa guys hear my expectations for their future products, but now it seems the story has to end up there.

This just figures. Tonight, the rear end cap of my 36-80-2000 motor came off (don't go reverse at high speed then hit a curb ). So now, I have to go get some red locktite and then maybe drill a couple holes at the end to add some small screws for extra insurance. It's not like I have to worry about the warranty now.

Metallover 08.03.2009 01:42 AM

Now the rear end is just crimped on, right? No fancy threads?

BrianG 08.03.2009 01:52 AM

Not even crimped from what I can tell, just glued.

pinkpanda3310 08.03.2009 01:58 AM

I take it Monster Mike is binning the long motor heatsink/clamp idea then.

Finnster 08.03.2009 10:45 AM

What would it take to make the feigao XL clamp to work? Just some longer screws? Same diameter right?

nitrostarter 08.03.2009 10:49 AM

As far I know yes. I use the RCM "L" sized heatsink on a 36-60 with no issues. The XL should fit the 70 and 80mm cans, longer screws may be required.

The Medusa heatsink that was planned covered up the rear endbell holes.
