Are the rotors wrapped with some kind of material to prevent the magnets from seperating at high rpms?

I have no idea. Here's a pic from their site of a 22 series

Doesn't look like there's any wrapping.

No wrapping, bleh.

Maybe lincpimp could wrap these in kevlar like he did with that hacker motor a while back...

I've been speaking with Tenshock for a while now and they told me they had no plans for a car motor. I guess I was wrong. I was supposed to get some samples but they never sent them out. Their design looks good and the only problem is the price which seems to be up there for an Asian company.

They showed me a pic of a car motor in a losi 8ight. I might be getting one just to see how they hold up.
Have you heard anything about these motors lutach?

Other then giving Tenshock a lot of information and waiting for a sample....They say the rotor design doesn't need to be wrapped with anything. I showed Echo Chen a few pictures of failed rotors, but I don't know if they made it that way.

Here is the last e-mail I got from Tenshock:

Hi,Luciano,

Ok. Noted.
I will send you three motors first for you testing.I will inform you the tracking no. when i send the motors.
But have to point out again, those are for boats. Not good for car use.

In the beginning of Apirl we will have two long motors. One is 40mm the other is 57mm.
We make those for our customer for Helicopter use.

I will ask my engineer to make a sample as you require in the end of this month.

wishes,

Echo

So they basically used some of the information I sent them and again I got nothing in return. Good thing I know a few other motor manufacturers that can make motors to my standards at a good price.

That doesn't make sense cos several car motors are already listed in their 2009 catalog. see the link at #1 post.

thats probably why he said "I guess I was wrong".

Just got some more info:
- the motors are handwound;
- the stators are individually balanced by machine.

I can forward all the e-mails and MSN messeges to you if you like. I'm just saying it's kind of wrong since they had no plans for a car motor, but all of a sudden they have them. I gave them a lot of information and even mentioned a few other things which they didn't add to their motor (Which is good).

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I have no doubt about what you said. The thing that doesn't make my sense is how they were saying different words to different people. They are seemingly going to come up with many car motors from 1/18 to 45mm big ones for 1/8 vehicle from what I learned at a LHS here in Beijing.

It's cool. Good thing I didn't give them all the ideas I have in mind for a nice motor. The only thing I don't like is the way they go about doing things. They say they don't want to make motors for cars, then they pass all the info I sent them to the engineer and then nothing.

Here's some pics of a tenshock 2240/10 (1530kv, 2200watt max power) car motor next to a 60mm medusa and a tekno neu 1515. Installed the motor in a mini ste, almost ready to try it out.
