Hi, First off I gotta say all of your trucks are beautiful. the machine work that goes in to them is something. your now basher E-Revo is something I could only dream of building now. and your G2R with the motor mount, slipperential is awesome. now.... I think it's great your getting your son into racing/bashing when he's 5. great age to start him out. I did the same with my son (well I stated him out earlier with a JRX-2 and a 5 cell pack running around our driveway) then to a small dirt track and so on. it was great until he turned 16 and found out he was good enough at video games the people would send him to tourny's to play. thus ended our time in R/C. he will stop by a track where I'm at take my truck or buggy and set TQ by over a lap from before and leave. but he's not interested in racing any more. :frown: so enjoy it while you can........and keep your son away from video games!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks |
Thank you Tim for the wise words. I will keep that in mind.
And thank you for the comments on my RCs. Lately the kids like crawlers, as do I. My son likes the fixing and building aspect of the hobby, just as much as the driving. And I myself got into airbrushing... I can see me quitting the building and machining for a while, and focusing on painting. So interests shift constantly. Nice to hear your son turned into a very good driver... not so nice to hear about the video games, but I think you can not controll the interests of your kids ... especially after a certain age. If it's video games, and he goes pro, so be it. I myself dislike video games now, altough I have been a fan of them in my teen years myself. Let's see what comes next. I was trying to get a stretch of land to build a track (of found a club) last summer... we had no luck, due to the noise of the nitros we got turned down by every community council here... I will try to achive this goal one more time this summer, but if I fail again, I see no future for my RC racing here anyway. I hope for the best, but for my RC without a track is not worth the effort. Let's hope for the best. Thank you Daf |

Hi, I too am starting to like crawlers. I have yet to see one in person but I have read about them and been to a few web sites just for them. for me I like to build. and wrench. I really enjoyed it when my son was racing. when he started to get really good I quit racing and just wrenched for him. we had 4 years of him doing well at big races around where we lived. (onroad) and five years of off road racing too. I can't paint worth a ...... same for mouting up bodies on sedans. but I can make them work on most any track. offroad I have been away from for awhile but I plan to race every weekend it doesn't rain this summer both days. I feel for you about getting land for a track. we had a great place to race on asphalt but lost it because of the noise from Nitro sedans. we had just put $7000 in the same asphalt they use in the tracks for NASCAR down too. now it just sits empty. I truly hope you find a good piece of land for your club to build a track on. Thanks Tim |

Just leave the truck stock and find a field. That is what I did with my son at the age of 3 yrs.

Still Digging!!
Sorry to read about your luck with a suitable site Daf, There is always someone ready to spoil the fun. Have you tried any industrial sites (noise is less of an issue) Good luck anyways back on topic I have a TXT with my old stock Titans and EVX , It is running on 12 cells with 9tooth pinions.....Its still too fast. I have tried running on 6 cells with a link across one batt input, but it seems to lack the torque it had before. Will wiring the motors in series keep the speed the same as on 6 cells but with better tourque?? many thanks steve |
Hey Steve, I don't know about the torque you'd get, but I guess it'd be better than with 6 cells. If you find out, please report back!
Sorry for the late reply. Yeah, we're still looking around, and found a guy with a suitable field, next to an industrial area. Best of all, he's a real car wrencher, and was fascinated by our cars. He is basically supporting the idea, but we'll have to discuss the financial aspect and all. Please wish us luck. If this attempt fails, I'll call it a day and will try to get rid of all my cars. Stuff is just to expensive to just bash around, and bashing lost the adrenaline for me anyway. It's either having a track real close or quitting all together. I'll keep on painting though, no matter what. Daf |
You can call me all names you want, but it won't help me find a site for a track. And where is the fun when you can't race??

Hi, I truly hope you can find a place to race. wegot lucky a trcak opened up about 45 minutes from my house (mostly highway) and although it's not the best... with some work it will be a fun place to race. mostly 1/10th scale trucks and buggies... the gas cars have been tearing up the track quite abit when they run so they might be looking for someplace else to race. :( Thanks |
Dafni, what about electric only track? I know that there are less electric racers, but if having a electrical car to be able to race is what it takes, then maybe more racers will consider it?
|
Well I can report back finally, ( keep getting sucked into Battlefield2142:028: )that the motors in series works very well on the stock TXT gearing, its not too fast but it does keep all the grunt.
anyways who's name calling.....fart face.:010: |
A fart race!? count me in..
|
Not me thanks, I'll pass. ........Serum always TQ's and wins anyways!
