Hey Daf - I can honestly say i always look forward to your designs - You rock. Keep em coming....
|
it is a 51t spur, putting it more to the back makes it impossible to keep it that low, due to the two vertical braces.
I had the same plan, only on the backside, with an e-maxx. If everything is okay, Mike is making me a special adaptor to get the centerdiff directly on the reardiff.. (now THAT sounds weird.. :) ) |
Diff on the rear would be possible, but tricky. Very tricky, on a revo. The diff-cup would have to be uder the shocks, OR you would have to have an idler or something to make more room. Front was obvious for me.
And btw, the braces needed mods ayway. HotnCold, I can honestly say I always catch me staring at your sig :) You rock, too. Can't wait to meet you in person! Edit: Wait, I just had another look, there's another way for the diff i the rear. YOu would just need to modify a differet area of the braces. So it is definitely possible! |
yeahyeah.. I know it's possible Daniel.. ;)
You mean the eagle in his sig right?? |
On a maxx it would be very easy! But this is no news for us, eh ;) Somebody just has to do it! Who will it be?
Yeah, this eagle has a niiiice beak! |
now all of us are anxiuous to see it!:018:

Danfi, that is an awesome setup. |
WOW, Danfi that is good looking and functional custom work. I love mechanical engineering but I don't have the machinery to work with. I am currently putting a FLM chassis and suspension together and as I was building it I had all kinds of ideas that would (maybe) better the design. It would be nice to have the materials and resources to develop new chassis and suspension for companies like U.E. , gorillamaxx , FLM etc... Do you sell your designs or just enjoy doing the work? It's nice to be around people that are mechanical minded like I am + I get to learn more every day. I am disable so I spend alot of time on here (the forums) and a lot of time on my e-maxx. I do alot of work with my hands now because I can't walk, but I feel like I am doing something more than counting the cracks in the walls all day lol. It would be great to meet all you guys at the "get together" . Some of these guys sound like real characters lol. Well sorry I started babbling, I tend to do that. Anyway thats a great truck thanks for sharing it.

mmdooley, sorry to hear about your handicap. And don't worry about the babbling, I enjoy reading posts and mails from RC and BL fans. Feel free to shoot me a PM if ever you want to know or say something.
I comment you for picking up the RC hobby, and I admire you for this honest post. Respect. RC designer would be a nice profession, but I only do it on a "fun" level...altough the conversations with you guys makes me wanna open up a small business. Thank you for the kind words. Comments like this, from all of you, keep me going. Crazyjr, keep in mind Leroy did it on a Maxx. Much more room there, no shocks in the way! His design is also very nice, btw. I like it. Promod is the man when it comes to center-diffed Maxxes! |

Hey Daf,
Your trucks are always impressive. This one looks great. That is quite a rear dog bone you got there. :027: Where'd you find it? |
Thank you.
Mike got the dogbones for me. Apparently they stem from the same place as the ones he got for the G2R kits. |
I'm guessing that driveshaft came from rcalloys. I've got one of their driveshafts on the rear side of my tranny (sounds a bit dodgy....), and let me tell you: if there was one thing on my truck that I knew would never break, it would be that driveshaft. Its nearly 8mm thick!

nice truck daf you always amaze me with your designs evrything is nice and low on that truck. keep up the good work!!!
